Shot in the early hours of yesterday in underground car park
Shooting is latest killing linked to deadly Kinahan/Hutch feud
Michael Keogh (37) was a 'soft target'
Victim Michael Keogh and the car (featuring false plates) that was discovered burnt out
The killers of the country's latest gangland feud victim were monitoring
his social media activity to discover his movements in the days before
the killing.
Michael Keogh (37) was gunned down in the early hours of yesterday in
the underground car park of the Sheridan Court flat complex on Dublin's
Dorset Street where he lived.
The shooting is the latest killing linked to the deadly Kinahan/Hutch feud which has now claimed 12 lives.
It is believed his killers targeted Keogh as he was on his way to work. The victim had posted on Facebook early on Tuesday morning about starting a new job.
"New job new start hopefully all goes well," Keogh wrote.
Gardai believe Keogh, who was shot a number of times in the head and
the body, was targeted in a revenge attack for the murder of Gareth
Hutch on May 24 last year, as well the feud murder of Michael Barr a
month earlier.
While Keogh has never been arrested in relation to either murder, an
associate of his is the suspected gunman in the Hutch murder as well as
having "active involvement" in the killing of Barr at the Sunset House
pub in April 2016.
Gardaà confirmed last night they are investigating if his Facebook
post alerted his killers to the fact he was going to work at around 6am
yesterday, when he was ambushed in the underground car park.
The chief suspects for the murder of Keogh are the Hutch gang but the
involvement of dissident Republicans intent on avenging the murder of
Barr has not been ruled out.
"Mr Keogh was a soft target, he may even have helped his killers with
that social media post about his job," a source said last night.

"It is his associate who gardaà want to question about those two feud
murders, but Mr Keogh may certainly have had some knowledge of them,"
the source added.
Father-of-two
Keogh had just started a new job in construction. While not considered a
major criminal, he was linked to the so-called New INLA faction which
has aligned itself with the Kinahan cartel.
Keogh was found in his car in the car park by a council worker shortly before 10am.
A car was found burnt-out on Clonliffe Avenue at 7.30am and a handgun
with an attached silencer was found in this vehicle, which gardaÃ
believe was used as the getaway car. It is believed he was shot shortly
before this but an exact time is not known.
The car, a grey Opel Astra, registration number 12D 16387, was stolen
in the Dublin area in April. Its number plates had been replaced and
were fake.
Keogh was the brother of notorious INLA bomb-maker Jonathan Keogh (32), who has been on the run for over a year.It is thought Michael Keogh may have visited him abroad a number of weeks ago.
Gardaà have not ruled out the possibility Michael Keogh was involved
in one or more of five attacks against cars of Hutch family members last
week.
These attacks led to a huge increase in tensions in the deadly feud
which has now claimed 12 lives. There are now fears of revenge attacks
by the Kinahan cartel following his murder yesterday.
The murder is being treated as the first carried out by the Hutch
gang since the Regency Hotel bloodbath in February 2016, which escalated
the feud.
"The feeling is that the cartel will strike back in a very severe way
for this and more murders are expected even within the next few days," a
senior source said. "The situation is extremely volatile."
Fears of further violence have been heightened by the release of Hutch associate James 'Mago' Gately (30) from hospital.
He spent over a fortnight in hospital after he was the victim of a
drive-by shooting at the Topaz petrol station on the N32, in Ballymun,
on Wednesday, May 10.
Garda have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
Washington (CNN)The White House can't get its story straight on why President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. Trump told NBC News on Thursday that he was going to fire Comey with or without Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's memo criticizing the director. That statement contradicts at least 10 times Trump's top aides and advisers, including Vice President Mike Pence, tried to explain the how and the why the President decided to sack Comey. Tuesday's unceremonious move came amid the FBI's probe into Russia's role in the 2016 election and any connections the Trump campaign had to the hackers. "I was going to fire regardless of recommendation," Trump told NBC. He added: "(Rosenstein) made a recommendation ... He made a recommendation, but regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey." Trump: I planned to fire Comey 02:13 That was not the story Pence told reporters on Capitol Hill Wednesday. Sound Words For Slaves A daily devotion for November 16th From your friends at RayStedman.org Read: 1 Timothy 6:1-5 All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of all respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered (1 Timothy 6:1). Some of you have tyrants for bosses. I have worked for such supervisors myself. They frustrate you; you see them as ignoramuses who do not know the end from the beginning. How they ever got the job in the first place, you cannot comprehend. Yet there they are in charge; they have you in a stranglehold because they control your paycheck. The word of Scripture is that you are not merely to treat them with respect, but that you regard them as worthy of full respect. Everything is going to rest upon how you feel about them. If you think they are lunatics who are unworthy of your respect, then no matter how polite you may be when they are watching, your attitude toward them will be one o...

Pressure intensified on Robert Mugabe to resign as president of Zimbabwe on Saturday as tens of thousands of Zimbabweans flooded the streets of Harare for a mass rally calling for an end to his 37-year rule. The armed forces now in control of the country said it backed the mass demonstration, which some predict will be the biggest public rally since independence in 1980. The police authorities, which for decades have clamped down on non-sanctioned public gatherings, quickly gave permission for the demonstration. In a statement, the Zimbabwe Defence Forces said: "As long as the planned march remains orderly, peaceful and in tandem with the fundamental bill of rights and within the confines of the country's constitution and without hate speech and incitement to cause violence, it fully supports the march."It urged people who were travelling to Harare for the rally, including war vet...
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has attacked ex EFCC Chairman Farida Waziri. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has just unloaded on Mrs. Farida Waziri who oversaw affairs at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from 2008 to 2011. And let's just say it was Waziri who started it all. » How so? We can explain. You know, Waziri recently said Jonathan fired her as EFCC boss because she went after an unnamed individual who was friends with the big boys in Aso Rock. According to Waziri: "I came to Lagos on a vital intelligence on the (petrol) subsidy scam and as soon as I arrested a key culprit, I got a call from the Presidential Villa asking me to release the suspect, because, in their words, 'he is our person', but I refused to let him off and days after, I was removed from office." Waziri also said she was very grateful to Jonathan for axing her at the time, because she couldn't stand the corruption of the Jonathan era no more. "And that is...

Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa state, has attributed his arrest and perceived persecution to his desire to run for president in 2019. This was disclosed by his chief press secretary, Umar Kyari, in a chat with The Vanguard on Monday. He said the current state governor, Mohammed Badaru is “scared stiff ” of Lamido’s ambition and clout and “raised a false alarm” as his party might lose the local elections slated for July 1. “But it is rather too late for anyone to stop Lamido from achieving his political ambition come 2019 since the people have already seen that he has what it takes to rule Nigeria and lift it out of the woods.” Lamido, according to the Force public relations officer (PRO), Moshood Jimoh, was arrested and is being investigated after the “state government complained against his directive to his supporters to cause trouble and we had to wade in.” Meanwhile, the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded...
