Man Attacks Neighbour With Cutlass For Correcting Him
A 26-year old man identified as Jamiu Akinrogun has landed in trouble after he attacked his neighbour, Olatunde Omisade with a cutlass for correcting him and other youths.The shocking incident happened at 2, Alaye Street off Abule Odu Street, Egbeda, Lagos where they both reside.It was gathered the victim suffered his fate when he tried to offer advise to the suspect and other youths in the area over their misdemeanour conduct.
However, the suspect got angry and challenged Omisade for the effrontery which later led to an exchange of words between them. The suspect reportedly went inside his room and brought out a cutlass and attacked the victim with it and cut the victim’s hand.Omisade was bleeding profusely and was rushed to the hospital where he is being treated.
The matter was reported to the police who arrested the suspect and charged him to court with grievous assault. At the Magistrate’s court where the suspect was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.The presiding Magistrate,Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 27 February 2017.
