The Nigerian government has reacted to the killing of a Nigerian identified as Rasak Alao in South Africa. Recall that the Nigerian man, an auto mechanic, was on Thursday killed in South Africa after he was attacked alongside other Nigerians in Polokwane, Limpopo Province in South Africa. Reports indicated that the men were attacked following suspicions that they were into drug trafficking. Rasak Alao whose car was burnt lost his life in the attack which was carried out on him and five other Nigerians. In reaction, the Federal government issued a statement condemning the act and repeated attack on Nigerian nationals living in the country. 2 ARMED ROBBERS SHOT DEAD DURING GUN BATTLE WITH POLICE

Two armed robbers were reportedly shot dead in a gun battle with the Kano State Police command and gang of robbers who shot a Police Patrol vehicle along Kano/Zaria road at a point close to Garun Mallam Village arrested. This was revealed in a statement signed by the command 's spokesperson , DSP . Magaji Musa Majia . According to him , the superior response officers attached to the Patrol van gunned down the robbers and sent the rest running. He further stated that one locally made AK 47 rifle , 1 revolver pistol, 12 live ammunition , charms and torchlight were recovered. A total of 13 members of the armed robbery gang that specializes in car/motorcycle snatching were also paraded by the police command. Kenneth Manzanares attacked his wife, Kristy, inside their cabin aboard the Emerald Princess cruise ship Tuesday night, according to an affidavit filed Wednesday in Alaska federal court. A witness told authorities that when he entered blood-splattered Cabin D726 — where the Manzanareses were staying — Kristy, 39, was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The Managing Director of the Motel, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mustapha-Rifun, who conducted newsmen round the motel on Saturday, expressed shock over the incidence. He described it as a setback to his efforts toward giving the edifice a face-lift.
