CORRUPTION/DASUKIGATE -OBANIKORO RETURNS FRESH N30MILLION AND PROMISES TO REFUNDANOTHER N417MILLION

Senator-Musiliu-Obanikoro dp1Former minister of state for defence,Senator Musiliu Obanikoro had refunded a fresh sum of N30m to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,with a promise to return N417m.
Senator-Musiliu-Obanikoro dp1Punch quoted a source as saying that Obanikoro transferred the said sum from his Diamond Bank account to the EFCC Recovered Funds Account.
According to the source, “I can confirm that Senator Obanikoro has been meeting up his part of the agreement. You will recall that last year, he promised to return a certain amount of money every quarter.
“He has made a payment of N30m, his first instalment in 2017. He is also reporting at the EFCC as he should.”
Obanikoro was recently accused of receiving N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, under the leadership of Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).
Following the allegation, the former junior minister, had in October 2016 returned to Nigeria from his base in United States, US, to clear himself with the anti-graft agency.
In hid statement to the EFCC, the ex-Minister had disclosed how he disbursed the sum he collected among some notable Nigerians.
Obanikoro disclosed that on 2014, he gave N1.219bn to the then governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose and also gave then PDP governorship candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore N1.3bn
