BREAKING NEWS ;DSS FINALLY BRINGS DASUKI TO COURT OVER METUH'S TRIAL

The Department of State Service, DSS, on Wednesday brought former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to an Abuja Federal High Court.

The development was in compliance with an order by the court.
Dasuki decked in a light blue attire with a cap to match arrived the court in company of DSS operatives, ahead of the commencement of the trial of Olisah Metuh, former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Metuh is on trial before Justice Okon Abang for allegedly receiving the sum of N400m from the Office of the NSA under the leadership of Dasuki before the 2015 presidential election.

EFCC UNCOVERS N13 BILLION CASH IN LOCAL AND FOREIGN CURRENCIES IN LAGOS APARTMENT

The whistle blowing policy of the Federal Government appears to be paying off as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday announced that it uncovered foreign currencies and Naira notes to the tune of $43.4 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million at a four-bedroom apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos. The total amount of money recovered at the current Central Bank exchange rate is over N13 billion. The operation followed a confidential information received by the Commission's Lagos office regarding some suspicious movement of bags in and out of a particular apartment in the building. Another source who is conversant with the apartment indicated that a woman usually appeared on different occasions with 'Ghana Must Go' bags, the EFCC said. Three people who supplied drugs across Manchester city centre were busted during a series of raids as part of a specialist police operation. Elvis Hasanaj, 22, Paula Tabacaru, 23, and and Kamer Mici, 26, were jailed at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday. The court heard how Tabacaru would take orders on a drugs hotline and use Mici and Hasanaj as runners around the city centre. A suspected ritual killer, Adebayo Mudashiru, has confessed that he and his colleagues buy human parts, including skulls, eyes and teeth, for N12,000. The suspect was arrested alongside three others in the Abeokuta and Owode Egba areas of the state by men of the Ogun State Police Command. The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, paraded the suspects at the headquarters of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Magbon, Abeokuta over the weekend. Iliyasu said the four suspects specialized in killing for ritual purposes and belonged to two different ritual groups. He said one of the groups, comprising Mudashiru and Rasheed Abass, who resided in the Totoro area of Abeokuta, were arrested on 5 October by operatives of FSARS. Five Zimbabwean nationals have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a mall in Johannesburg’s wealthy suburb of Hyde Park, the South African Police Service has confirmed.
