FORMER PRESIDENT'S NEPHEW ARRESTED AND RELEASED AFTER SHOOTING 2 PEOPLE

Oguanisi Akpusu, a nephew to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been arrested by men of the Bayelsa state police command for allegedly shooting two people during a masquerade festival.
Akpusu's arrest was confirmed by the police command which also said the man has been released.
The incident, according to Leadership, happened at Emeyal 1 community of Ogbia local government area of the state.
The report said the commissioner of police, Asuquo Amba, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, October 31, in Yenagoa, the capital of the state.
Amba, while parading suspects, said investigations showed that the shooting was accidental but added that the victims sustained wounds on their legs and thigh.
The commissioner said one of the shot victims is Hausa while the other is Igbo both resident in Omeyal 1.
The suspect was arrested by policemen attached to the Kolo divisional before the case was moved to the serious crime unit.
"Preliminary Investigations showed that it is a case of accidental discharge at a masquerade ceremony in Otuoke and Emeyal area of Ogbia Local Government.
"The victims are being taking care of by the culprit and the Ogbia people. It may have been a mistake," the commissioner reportedly said while raising concern over the increase in illegal possession of firearms in some parts of Yenagoa.
It was earlier reported that the police in Delta state said they have arrested one Emeka Ezeonyi who allegedly broke into the residence of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi in Asaba and carted away cash and other valuables.
The police public relations officer in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said this in a statement on Tuesday, October 31, in Asaba.
