GOVERNOR NEARLY LYNCHED AS HE ENDANGERED SELF TO SAVE COLLEAGUES AIDE(SEE PHOTOS)

THE LATE BELOVED SENATOR ISIAKA ADELEKE

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, rescued an aide to Osun State Governor, Ms Idiat Babalola, from mob attack at the premises of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, on Monday.

 According to the Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Amosun, Mr. Adejuwon Soyinka, the crowd of sympathisers demanded that Babalola be made to leave the premises of the Ede,Osun State country home of the Adelekes.

 The irate youths said Babalola was being touted to become the running mate of the anointed candidate of the APC.

 Problem started when Babalola was sighted by the mourners who demanded that she should be sent out.

 Despite pleas from family members of the deceased , the youths insisted and started shouting and raining curses on her.

48 BODIES OF TERRORIST ATTACKS RECOVERED

The extent of the fatality recorded during last Tuesday's ambush of oil exploration workers in the Lake Chad Basin by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, emerged Thursday as THISDAY sources said 48 bodies of the victims of the attack were deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) mortuary. Six dead, tens injured in DEADLY highway crash  has claimed six -The accident involved a saloon car and a bus -Five of the deceased were from the saloon car Six people lost their lives early on Sunday morning after deadly accident involving a saloon car and a bus along the Londiani-Muhoroni-Kisumu Highway . The accident occurred when the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle and consequently swerved into the other lane, colliding with the Toyota Wish head-on. A sexual predator who followed a teenage girl then sexually assaulted her has been jailed. Umar Iqbal, 25, approached the 16-year-old in Rochdale at around 3.30pm on Thursday, March 5, this year. Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court heard how Iqbal first walked after her along Yorkshire Street in the town centre. He then attempted to talk to her, but she felt uneasy and walked away. Iqbal told her he liked her and asked if she had a boyfriend. He took hold of her hand, pulled her towards a garage area and attempted to kiss her. The victim said no and pulled away, but Iqbal sexually assaulted her. She reported it to the police the next day and officers traced Iqbal.
