Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, the First Lady of Anambra State was recently spotted in her husband's party attire buying food items from market women in the state, just weeks before the 2017 gubernatorial election.

Before this outing, the first lady was seen on top of a moving bike in public.

Many think her move is to convince people in the state to re-elect her husband, Governor Willie Obiano in the next governorship election which will take place on the 18th of November.

Two evil thieves who robbed a student and stabbed him were mercilessly beaten after they were caught in Niger state. The thieves were stripped naked and beaten mercilessly by angry students after they were caught robbing and inflicting deep cut on a student with cutlass inside the Federal University of Technology, Minna in Niger State. They were intercepted by neighbours who came to rescue the victim and his girlfriend yesterday. Police went to escort the 6ft 4in striker from the club's training ground to Barkingside Magistrates' Court on the eve of transfer deadline day, the day after he gave his main evidence in person at Basildon Crown Court. Carroll earlier told Basildon Crown Court that a male motorcyclist, who, he believed, had a gun, demanded he hand over his watch as he drove his green Jeep Wrangler home from training. Gunmen Sunday abducted a would-be couple, the best man and their friends at Akunnu-Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State on their way to Akure, the Ondo State capital for their engagement ceremony. THISDAY gathered that the groom, Moses Yakubu, his would-be wife and three of their friends were coming from Okene in Kogi State and heading to Akure for the engagement slated for Sunday when the car in which they were travelling was seized at gunpoint at Akunnu-Akoko. The father of the bride, Mr Ahmed Yakubu, who confirmed the incident, said the bride and her younger sister were later set free by the kidnappers but took away the groom and his friends. FORMER SHELTON MANAGER ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING EMPLOYEES

The former manager of a Shelton restaurant is accused of sexually harassing employees and touching them inappropriately. Police started the investigation in March 2016 when three female employees of Dee's Kitchen at 509 Howe Ave. in Shelton went to police to report that 58-year-old Bryan Stockbridge, of Ansonia, was sexually harassing them and had touched them inappropriately on several occasions. Detectives quickly obtained an arrest warrant, but they could not apprehend him, police said. They then obtained information that Stockbridge fled to California after an interview with detectives. Shelton police obtained information today that Stockbridge was back in Connecticut, living in Ansonia, and they took him into custody. Stockbridge has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court tomorrow.

17 YEAR OLD BOY SHOOTS 13 YEAR OLD YOUNGER SISTER TO DEATH AFTER BIRTHDAY WISHES

A United States teenager shot his 13-year-old sister in the back of the head after she gave him a birthday hug in their Florida home.  According to the police, 17-year-old Martaevious Santiago pointed a loaded semi-automatic handgun at Tedra King as she walked away and pulled the trigger, killing her. He claimed it was an accident.  Santiago called police after the shooting and said he had accidentally shot his sister. He has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.  The 17-year-old told the police he got the gun from a 14-year-old friend, who has also been arrested. Santiago has been previously embroiled in gun violence, and was featured in a WLRN series called Young Survivors earlier this year which told the stories of youth surviving gun violence. Suspected Boko Haram Members Kill 10-Year-Old Boy February 16, 2017 Policemen attached to the Inspector- General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris’ Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), have arrested suspected Boko Haram members, who abducted a 10-year-old boy in Maiduguri, Borno State and later stabbed him to death. The victim, Baa Goni Maina, was abducted on January 14 by 18-year-old Adam Bakura and his brother, Modu Bakura. He was killed three days later after his father couldn’t cough up the N10 million ransom the brothers demanded. It was learnt that although Maina’s father was comfortable, he was not rich enough to have N10 million. The suspect and deceased lived in the same community. When Maina was abducted, nobody bargained that Adam and his brother were behind it. Police said that the boy was tricked away from his street, down to a river bank.
