FRENCH POLICE OFFICER SHOOTS 3 DEAD ON A PARIS STREET BEFORE KILLING SELF
French police officer fatally shot three people on a street near Paris before killing himself, according to reports.
The incident was part of an apparent domestic dispute in which the officer's girlfriend, her mother and sister were injured, the BBC reported.
Her father and two passers-by were killed in the shooting which happened in the town of Sarcelles late on Saturday.
The mayor of Sarcelles, north of Paris, said the woman had recently told her partner that she was breaking up with him, according to the BBC.
The officer first killed two people with his service weapon on the street, Le Monde newspaper said.
Sarcelles Mayor François Pupponi reporters that the passers-by killed had no connection with the officer.
He added: "They were local residents - I knew them well because I lived on this street for 10 years."
The 31-year-old then shot his girlfriend as she sat in a car, reports said.
He also fired on her mother, father and sister, before turning the gun on himself.
His body was found in the front garden of a nearby house.
