South African Police Disperse Anti-Immigrant Protesters Feb 25, 2017 About 156 people have been arrested for various crimes, during the anti-foreigners march in Pretoria. South Africa’s National Police Chief Khomotso Phahlane says, the people were arrested for random acts of violence, looting and destruction of property. It was unclear how many of those in custody were South Africans and how many are foreigners. But the armed police had formed a barrier between citizens and non-nationals marching in Pretoria, when the crowd became unruly with both sides shouting at one another prompting the police to disperse the angry mobs. Many shops were shuttered in Marabastad, an area situated in the west of the capital, where many foreign nationals have their stores, and roads were blocked as the protesters gathered. Turkish School Kidnap: Police Arrest Another Suspect In Ughelli. Updated February 25, 2017 Another leader of a gang that kidnapped eight persons in Tulip International School, Isheri in Ogun State has been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team. It was gathered that the 32-year-old suspect, Peter Ajanapo, also known as “General Osari” was arrested in Ughelli town in Delta State,south-south Nigeria.The suspect was alleged to have confessed to collecting two million Naira, as well as one hundred and fifty thousand Naira from the Tulip school and Isheri secretary kidnaps respectively as ransom. The latest arrest makes it the eight gang member now in custody over the Isheri kidnap case,earlier arrests were made by the team in Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Delta States.

Lieutenant, 6 others killed in fresh Boko Haram attack 24th Feb 2017, A lieutenant has been reportedly killed in a fresh attack by Boko Haram terrorists in Gajiram, a town 80 kilometers away from Maiduguri, Borno state capital. Punch reports that the lieutenant was killed alongside six other soldiers during an attack on a military formation in the area. A civilian vigilante Babakura Kolo said a gun battle between the military and the terrorists lasted for about two hours killing three soldiers. Kolo said after the attack, on Friday, February 24, the death toll of soldiers killed rose to seven. “Yesterday, three bodies of soldiers were found but four more bodies were found during a search,” Kolo said.
