South African Police Disperse Anti-Immigrant Protesters

About 156 people have been arrested for various crimes, during the anti-foreigners march in Pretoria.
South Africa’s National Police Chief Khomotso Phahlane says, the people were arrested for random acts of violence, looting and destruction of property.
It was unclear how many of those in custody were South Africans and how many are foreigners.
But the armed police had formed a barrier between citizens and non-nationals marching in Pretoria, when the crowd became unruly with both sides shouting at one another prompting the police to disperse the angry mobs.
Many shops were shuttered in Marabastad, an area situated in the west of the capital, where many foreign nationals have their stores, and roads were blocked as the protesters gathered.
Some of the foreigners carried rocks and sticks, saying they were ready to protect their stores.
The protest follows the looting this week of at least 20 small businesses believed to belong to Nigerian and Pakistani immigrants, in an area in west Pretoria.

EGYPT BLOCKS 21 WEBSITES FROM FUNCTIONING WITHIN IT'S BORDERS

Egypt on Thursday blocked 21 websites, including Qatari news network Al Jazeera and Islamist-affiliated platforms, following in the footsteps of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Among those blocked since Wednesday evening is the website of the now-banned Muslim Brotherhood, Ikhwan Online, according to a report in the privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper. All websites blocked contain material that “support terrorism and extremism as well as publish lies,” a security source was quoted as saying. The Arabic edition of the Huffington Post was blocked, although the English-language version was accessible. The independent Cairo-based Mada Masr was another site blocked. SAPULPA, Okla. - Police say an elementary school teacher was arrested on multiple charges after accidentally leaving her Facebook page open on a school computer. Officers were called to Holmes Park Elementary School on Monday after a teacher found Megan Sloan's Facebook page open on a computer, according to KOKI-TV. Authorities say the page featured a conversation where Sloan reportedly asked about using and selling heroin. Detectives told KOKI that during the investigation, Sloan allegedly admitted to pawning two iPads that belonged to the school district. She also reportedly admitted to using money from field trips for gas and drugs. When officers searched Sloan's purse, they allegedly found syringes and substances that tested positive for meth and heroin. A group of 40 Ethiopian nationals charged with being in Kenya illegally broke down and cried uncontrollably in court on Thursday after a magistrate ordered for their repatriation upon completing a one month jail term or pay a collective fine of Sh800,000 imposed on them. The former governor of Osun state and the Osun West senator, Isiaka Adeleke, is reported to have died of an overdose of painkillers. The drugs were administered to him by an unqualified medical technician.
