The residents of Moro Village in Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state were shocke after a prominent traditional healer, Dr. Dennis Nakowa was abducted by gunmen from his residence and was later murdered by the kidnappers.
Speaking to correspondent, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abubakar Sadie Belly, who confirmed the incident, said the abductors invaded the deceased’s residence on Friday, February 18, after killing a security guard and took him to an unknown place.
His body was found on Tuesday, February 21, by the police and local vigilante group in a forest around the village. He was laid to rest yesterday in his country home in Agenda, Plateau State.

The whistle blowing policy of the Federal Government appears to be paying off as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday announced that it uncovered foreign currencies and Naira notes to the tune of $43.4 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million at a four-bedroom apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos. The total amount of money recovered at the current Central Bank exchange rate is over N13 billion. A suspected ritual killer, Adebayo Mudashiru, has confessed that he and his colleagues buy human parts, including skulls, eyes and teeth, for N12,000. The suspect was arrested alongside three others in the Abeokuta and Owode Egba areas of the state by men of the Ogun State Police Command. The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, paraded the suspects at the headquarters of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Magbon, Abeokuta over the weekend. Iliyasu said the four suspects specialized in killing for ritual purposes and belonged to two different ritual groups.
