Appeal Court sacks APC Lawmaker

The Court of Appeal sitting in Benin City has sacked the lawmaker representing Ovia South West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Aghedo.
 It ordered Mr. Godwin Adenomo, a member of the All Progressive Congress, to be sworn in immediately.
 Adenomo had dragged the APC and the Committee that conducted the party primaries to court over imposition of the sacked lawmaker as the winner of the party primaries to the State House of Assembly in 2014.
He claimed he won the primaries but was denied the party’s ticket which was given to his opponent.
 A judgement of the High Court asked the APC to conduct a fresh primary for the position but Adenomo rejected the ruling and headed for the appellate court to get proper judgment.
Reacting to the judgment, the sacked lawmakers said he was already consulting with his lawyers.
His words, “I have no reaction. I am still consulting with my lawyers on what to do next.”

Jerusalem – The U.S. Army has inaugurated its first military base in Israel,which sends a message of readiness to Iran in the region, local media reported on Tuesday. The base's opening comes as Israel faces a slew of regional threats, especially from its Iran, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said. The Israeli military said the new base is located inside an existing Israel Air Force base in the southern region. The American military base houses dozens of U.S. soldiers operating radar device alongside Israeli soldiers as U.S. radar has been operational on site for a decade, using American civilians to operate it.

6 Nigerian businessmen arrested with 1.528g of cocaine and heroin in Liberia Liberia’s Drugs Enforcement Agency or DEA says it has arrested six Nigerians in possession of 1.528 grams of cocaine and heroin. WHISTLE BLOWER ASSISTS NAFDAC UNCOVER N200 MILLION FAKE PRODUCTS

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has uncovered fake and unregistered products valued at over N200 million. The products, confiscated through a whistle-blower’s report, were stocked in a building at 11, Omotosho Crescent, off Ewedana Street, Toll Gate, Ota in Ogun State.  The building also served as production outlet for bitters with fake NAFDAC registration numbers. At a briefing in Lagos yesterday, Acting Director-General of NAFDAC, Mrs. Yetunde Oni, explained that the building is a bungalow of five bedrooms, with two residential rooms, while the other three, the parlour and the kitchen were used for production of unregistered, deceptive and counterfeit products. Former MP Harvey Proctor has said he will sue the Metropolitan Police over their handling of the investigation into historical child sex abuse allegations against him. ​The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has today revealed the location of the ark of Noah which every archeologist has been looking for over the years. According to the Ooni, the ark is in Ile-Ife and it is there because ‘everything started in Africa’. In his Facebook page, he wrote.. “The Ark of Noah which the entire world has been searching for is in Ie-Ife. The Ark of Noah has been in existence and it is in Ife land. The bottom line is that everything started in Africa and it has been established by researches and historian. Wherever in Africa the origin of man started, it’s our general asset.
