ABIA COMMUNITY CRIES OUT AS THEY DEMAND FOR THEIR TRADITIONAL LEADER,WIFE AND SON,NNAMDI KANU

Traditional chiefs of Afaraukwu community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State have called on the state government to assist them in looking for leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and his parents.

They lamented that Kanu, his mother and father, who is the traditional ruler of the town, got missing following the September 10 invasion of Kanu’s community.

According to them, the disappearance of Eze Israel Kanu, his wife and son for more than three weeks after the soldiers’ invasion was giving them sleepless nights.

A member of Eze Kanu’s cabinet, Chimechefulam Odoemelam, told Punch that he was worried about the disappearance of the monarch and his family members.

He said, “The truth is that we have not seen or heard from our Eze since we all came back. Everybody is confused about his whereabouts because we do not know where to look for him.

“We have reported the case to the body of traditional rulers in Ibeku, Umuahia kingdom where we belong and our Chairman, Eze Henry Ezekwem, has promised to give us a date to meet him on the matter.

“We are hoping that the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers which he (Eze Kanu) is a member will also lend their voice in asking for his whereabouts.”

Odoemelam, however, said the community had yet to officially report the missing of their monarch to the police because they were advised to stop further action on his whereabouts until the umbrella body of traditional institution in the Ibeku kingdom takes a decision on the matter.

He called on Abia State and the Federal Government to probe the soldiers that invaded the palace in order to know if they took away the trio.

Benue State Police Command has busted two kidnap syndicate of 8 including a Gang of 4 allegedly led by a woman believed to be an associate of the wanted militant leader, Terwase Agwaza, aka Gana, who a week ago abducted a businessman. The police operation also led to the arrest of three women whose responsibilities were to provide food for the victims, who was rescued alive. Japanese workers famously put in long hours, leading, in extreme cases, to karoshi, or death from overwork. Japanese media outfit, NHK, has apologized to the parents of deceased Japanese reporter, Miwa Sado, who died of heart failure after reportedly working for 159 hours of overtime in a month. Sado, who had been covering political news in Tokyo was found dead in her bed in July 2013, reportedly clutching her mobile phone. "The chairman met the parents at their home in the morning and apologised," an NHK spokesman told AFP. A government inquest a year after her death ruled that it was linked to excessive overtime. The State Security Service (SSS), on Saturday, announced the arrest of Husseini Maitangaran, a top commander of by Islamic State of West Africa (ISWA), otherwise known as Boko Haram. A Jehovah's Witness convention in Angola was attacked with toxic gas on Friday, causing over 400 people to faint. A local news source, Portal de Angola, reported on Saturday that three young men were detained after the attack. According to the report, some 7,000 worshippers were at a venue on the outskirts of Luanda for the weekend-long convention. Forty-three victims were rushed to the hospital, but no deaths have been reported. A witness, Abraham Kituxi, told Portal de Angola that his sister-in-law was one of the first to collapse. She told him that she had smelled something foul before passing out. Shortly thereafter, more people began collapsing, creating panic throughout the venue.
