Happening now. Yankuba Badjie, the former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency and Ex Director of Operations Sheikh Omar Jeng, have been taken into custody, the
Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The former NIA officers were arrested last night.
A source writing to us said: "Hello Mr. Mbai, I just want to tell you that Sheikh Omar Jeng and Yankuba Badjie are arrested since yesterday and I am very sure of the information, but still as a journalist can you make your findings."
A Gambian journalist writes: "Yankuba Badjie, the former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and former Director of operations Sheikh Omar Jeng have been arrested and detained. "
Another source said the arrest of the duo was discussed shortly after the Finance Minister's press conference. " I will not be surprised about the arrest of Yankuba Badjie. I was informed about their imminent arrest," said our source.

Jerusalem – The U.S. Army has inaugurated its first military base in Israel,which sends a message of readiness to Iran in the region, local media reported on Tuesday. The base's opening comes as Israel faces a slew of regional threats, especially from its Iran, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said. The Israeli military said the new base is located inside an existing Israel Air Force base in the southern region. COURT ORDERS FORFEITURE OF MONIES IN BANK ACCOUNTS NOT LINKED TO BVN

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the forfeiture of all monies in bank accounts owned by corporate organisations, government agencies or individuals that are without bank verification number (BVN). The forfeiture order, which was issued by Justice Dimgba Igwe, while ruling on an exparte application filed by the Federal Government through the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, is not final yet. The owners of the accounts will have 14 days to claim ownership of same and show cause why the proceeds in the accounts should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. The Federal Government had sought an interim order directing all the money deposit banks (commercial banks) to disclose/declare all individual and corporate accounts in their custody not covered by BVN and for an interim order of forfeiture of the monies therein being accounts with insufficient know your customer guidelines contrary to the directive of the CBN and Section 3 of the Money Launder...
