Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and former governor, James Onanefe Ibori are pictured in public together for the first time since Ibori’s return to Delta.

The politicians were seen exchanging pleasantries during a Grand Reception in honour of Okowa at the Otor-Agbon palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, HRM Mike Omeru Ogurimerime.
Ibori was jailed on April 17, 2012, for 13 years. That was the third time the former governor was sent to jail for theft.He is alleged to have stolen more than $250 million from the treasury of the oil-rich Delta State.

48 BODIES OF TERRORIST ATTACKS RECOVERED

The extent of the fatality recorded during last Tuesday's ambush of oil exploration workers in the Lake Chad Basin by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, emerged Thursday as THISDAY sources said 48 bodies of the victims of the attack were deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) mortuary. The information came just as Acting President Yemi Osinbajo met with service chiefs Thursday in Abuja over the resurgence of terrorist attacks in the country and ordered them to relocate to Maiduguri, the epicentre of the Boko Haram terror. The Presidency on Tuesday said the consultations initiated by acting President Yemi Osinbajo will continue until sustainable peace is achieved. Media aide to Osinbajo made this known in a statement. Osinbajo met with opinion leaders, traditional rulers as well as political leaders from the North and South-East regions on the back of the exit notice issued by a coalition of northern youth groups to the Igbo resident in the North.
