ENUGU POLICE LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION INTO ARREST OF PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS

The Enugu state police force has launched a full scale investigation into the widely reported arrest of primary school pupils Montessori primary school,GRA Enugu by some of its officers.

Below is a press statement from the force;

‘ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT POLICE IN CONJUNCTION WITH EARLY DEW MONTESSORI PRIMARY SCHOOL GRA ENUGU, ARRESTING 4 TO 7 YEAR OLD AND PUTTING THEM BEHIND A HILUX”.

The command wish to make it categorically clear that such development negates its sincere aspiration/programme towards erasing police/children phobia thus bringing children and youth closer to the police as well as exposing them to numerous potentials/opportunities in the police which is part of the command’s laudable programme tagged Students/pupils handshake with the commissioner of police being pursued vigorously by the command.

In view of the above,the command further wish to inform members of the public particularly good people of the state that a full scale investigations have begun into the incident with a view to unmasking and bringing to book those behind the act which is viewed unprofessional.

After weeks of intensive manhunt, the Lagos state police command has arrested one Ismaila Adeyemi, 49, the suspected mastermind and killer of Hector Jobateh (the 2007 winner of Gulder Ultimate search) who was traced and shot dead at his residence at New Oko-Oba in Agege, Lagos State. The suspect who was arrested at gas line Ominiyi in Ijoko area of Ogun state, confessed to the crime and other numerous crimes, while other members of his gang have been arrested. The suspects will be charged to court after investigation is concluded.

EFCC re-arraigns 3 directors for allegedly stealing over N100 million MARCH 9th, 2017 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re-arraigned three directors, Gregory Eriyanremu, Frank Ugen and Harriman Isa Oyofo before Justice Uloho of the Delta State High Court sitting in Warri for allegedly converting over N100million meant for payments of contractors who executed contract job for Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, to personal use at different times. A chef, Godwin Obot, 40, was arraigned in Lagos on Wednesday for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s eight-year-old daughter after luring the girl into his room with soft drink. The accused was brought before a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court, charged with defilement of a minor.  Obot, however, pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kikelomo Ayeye, directed that Obot must provide two sureties, one of whom should be a community leader. Ayeye said the other surety should be a civil servant on grade level 16.  She said the accused should be remanded in prison if he failed to meet the bail conditions. The Prosecutor, Insp.
