Southern Kaduna: IGP deploys Police Special Forces February 23, 2017 The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim K. Idris, has ordered the deployment of Police Special Forces to put an end to the renewed wave of clashes in some communities in Southern Kaduna. 36 BODIES FOUND IN MANILLA CASINO ENTERTAINMENT RESORT

At least 36 bodies have been found at the Resorts World Manila entertainment complex that was stormed by a gunman, in what officials believe was a botched robbery. Most of the dead suffocated in the chaos as guests and staff tried to flee choking smoke at the complex after the attack began shortly after midnight. Police office chief Oscar Albayalde said they were in the casino's main gaming area. "What caused their deaths is the thick smoke," he said. "The room was carpeted and of course the tables, highly combustible." A resort official said the dead included 13 employees and 22 guests. A South Korean person was among the dead, apparently after a heart attack, a foreign ministry official said. Officials said at least 54 people were also injured, some seriously. Two Seattle police officers were shot Thursday while responding to a robbery at a 7-Eleven, according to the city's police department. The two officers, one male and one female, were brought to the Harborview Medical Center. The hospital tweeted that the male officer was upgraded to serious but stable condition, and that the female officer remained in satisfactory condition. One officer suffered a shot to the chest, but was wearing a vest sustained minor injuries. *Police were called to Piccadilly bus station after a suitcase was found on the 192 bus and a man reportedly ran from the scene A suitcase has been left on a bus at Piccadilly bus station sparking a security alert. Police were called to Portland Street after the suitcase was found on the 192 bus at 11.35am. Greater Manchester Police officers are on their way to the scene to investigate. It's understood a man got onto the Stagecoach bus and dropped the suitcase in the middle aisle. He then reportedly ran off the bus service, which was travelling from the city centre to Stockport. POLICE INTERCEPT TWO VEHICLES CARRYING ARMS

The Zamfara State Police Command on Wednesday intercepted two vehicles carrying arms in different parts of the state. The spokesman of the command, Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the development in Gusau. He told the News Agency of Nigeria that items recovered from the vehicles were three AK47 riffles, an automatic pistol, locally-made pistol, magazines and live ammunitions. According to him, other items recovered include N103, 435 cash, ATM card, three voters’ cards, military camouflage and a stamp of the Cattle Traders Association of Nigeria in the Bukuru Local Government Area of Plateau.
