A 23-year-old Ohio woman was last week charged with raping her male cab driver, who was allegedly being held at knifepoint by one of the two men who accompanied her. Police say Brittany Carter, Cory Jackson, and a second unidentified male arranged for a pickup at a TownePlace Suites hotel in Findlay on Jan. 28.     The Smoking Gun quotes the indictment as alleging Carter "purposely compelled" the 29-year-old victim to participate in a sex act "by force or threat of force"; he was otherwise uninjured. The family alleged that Kanu was prevented from receiving visitors because the prison wardens were plotting to hatch their plans without anyone knowing. In a petitioned to the United States government, the European Union and Amnesty International, the family claimed Kanu was being subjected to humiliation by prisons authorities and the officials of the DSS. An attempt by a mother of two children to smuggle a phone to her boyfriend in prison custody has been foiled by the officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 33-year-old woman, Fatima Balogun who has been arrested by men of the Special Intelligence Unit of the NPS, carried out the action on Wednesday at the gate lodge of Abeokuta maximum Prisons in Ibara. The suspect confessed that she hid the phone which she bought for her boyfriend identified as Ganiyu Ajibode, in the cooler of soup from the Prisons officials. Balogun said she was a divorcee with two children before she met Ganiyu about two years back. The suspect who said she lived in Fagba, Iju-Saga in Lagos, said she had never visited the Prison since her boyfriend was remanded for armed robbery six months ago. Pietermaritzburg - The fifth suspect in the "cannibalism" case appeared briefly at the Estcourt Magistrate's Court on Wednesday afternoon, a court official said on Thursday. Khayelihle Lamula, 32, of Esigodlweni area in Estcourt, faces a charge of conspiracy to commit murder and a murder charge. The media had been told by the police's provincial communications office that he would appear on Thursday, but when they arrived in court they were told that Lamula appeared the previous day.
