REPS SUMMON EDUCATION MINISTERS OVER ILLEGAL TRANSFERS OF FGC PRICIPALS/DIRECTORS
Reps summon Education Ministers over illegal transfers of FGC principals/directors

Trouble is brewing at the Federal Ministry of Education, following illegal and surreptitious transfer of qualified principals and directors of Education from many Federal Government Colleges and their replacement with junior officers close to top government officials in the ministry.
Most of the principals are qualified directors on Level 17, who were persuaded by the Federal Civil Service to accept to serve as principals of grade A federal government colleges as a result of inadequate vacancies in the ministry to serve as directors. However, while the directors were deployed to many states of the federation, with some having less than a year to retire from service, the Ministry of Education has moved in some junior officers with no requisite qualifications to head such schools, thereby causing a rift in the process.
Vanguard learned that the aggrieved principals and directors have petitioned speaker of the House of Representatives,pleading with him to intervene in the glaring injustice meted out on them by two top officials of the ministry,including a director.Early in the month,the House Committee on Education wrote a strong worded letter to the Ministry of Education condemning the ill-treatment of the senior principals and directors and asked it to withdraw the letters directing them to report in their new stations until the end of the school calendar year.
But it was learned that two top officials in the ministry ignored the House of Reps Committee and deployed police to chase away the old principals to pave way for their preferred ‘candidates. But when the House Committee on Education got wind of the recalcitrance of the Ministry’s top officials, it immediately summoned the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and the Minister of State for Education, Anthony Anwuka, to report to the committee tomorrow to show cause why they should not be sanctioned for flouting the directive of the National Assembly
