    Former Heartland and Enugu Rangers captain and defender, Chinedu Efugh has donated the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) to ailing coach kelechi Emeteole. The former Heartland and Enugu Rangers coach was diagnosed with a throat cancer. Heartland’s Public Relations Officer, Solomon Onuh who is championing the Save Our Soul (SOS) campaign for the former El Kanemi Warriors tactician confirmed receipt of the kind donation from the Abia Warriors strongman, Efugh.

     “Yes, Efugh donated N50,000 to assist coach Kelechi Emeteole in his urgent medical treatment. “In fact, I’m heading to his (Emeteole) house to hand the cheque to the wife. “Aside, the Chief of Staff to the Imo state governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has equally donated the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) while the deputy speaker, Rt Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo donated Two Hundred Thousand Naira (200,000).

     “These payments have been confirmed through the bank details of his wife,” said Onuh. Onuh also confirmed the donation made by the Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo of the sum of Two Million Naira (N2m) to former Nigerian international, Emeteole. Emeteole a defender in his active days and fondly called Caterpillar played for Nigeria at the 1976 Nations Cup in Ethiopia. He has also served as assistant coach in the national teams – Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles and Super Eagles. Emeteole’s family is still appealing for more support from well-meaning Nigerians.

2 FULANI HERDSMEN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING 14 YEAR OLD TEEN

Two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, who are brothers, have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area, Eggon Local Government Area of the state. The victim, simply identified as Esther, was reportedly ambushed and assaulted by the suspects at a secluded part of the road. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Nassarawa, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, Umar and Musa had been apprehended following a complaint by Esther’s parents. French police officer fatally shot three people on a street near Paris before killing himself, according to reports. The incident was part of an apparent domestic dispute in which the officer's girlfriend, her mother and sister were injured, the BBC reported. Her father and two passers-by were killed in the shooting which happened in the town of Sarcelles late on Saturday. The mayor of Sarcelles, north of Paris, said the woman had recently told her partner that she was breaking up with him, according to the BBC. The officer first killed two people with his service weapon on the street, Le Monde newspaper said. An attempt by a mother of two children to smuggle a phone to her boyfriend in prison custody has been foiled by the officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 33-year-old woman, Fatima Balogun who has been arrested by men of the Special Intelligence Unit of the NPS, carried out the action on Wednesday at the gate lodge of Abeokuta maximum Prisons in Ibara. The suspect confessed that she hid the phone which she bought for her boyfriend identified as Ganiyu Ajibode, in the cooler of soup from the Prisons officials. In an alleged ecstasy to impress their paymaster, a team of police operatives, on Sunday, shot dead one Elvis Ovie and injured another, Onome Eko, during a party in Warri, Delta State.
