GHANA-MAN KILLS SON FOR RITUALS

A 31-year-old farmer, Abdul Salam, has been arrested by the Asankragwa police for purportedly killing his six-year-old son for alleged ritual purposes.

 The incident reportedly occurred at Adidaase, near Amanso Amenfi in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region yesterday.

 According to eyewitness reports, the man allegedly cut off his son’s head and legs to be sent to a spiritualist to help him (father) get more money.

 Some of the residents explained that the mother reported to the elders of the farming community that her six-year-old boy had got missing.

 The unit committee members in the area subsequently formed a search party to look for the little boy.

 When the father, Abdul Salam, was confronted, he allegedly admitted killing his own son and removing some parts of the body for rituals.

 “Upon interrogation, Abdul Salam confessed that he murdered the little boy to sell the head and the legs for ritual purposes,” one resident alleged.

 DAILY GUIDE has gathered that Abdul Salam is currently in the custody of the Asankragwaa police pending further investigations.

Heavily armed policemen on Tuesday in Dutse, Jigawa State capital, fired teargas canisters at a crowd that gathered at the Chief Magistrate Court Two for the arraignment of former governor Sule Lamido, who is being tried for making inciting remarks. Counsel for the Jigawa State Government, Ikenna Ekpunobi, insisted that Lamido should not be granted bail until investigation was completed. Emphasising that Lamido was charged with disturbing public peace and inciting public disturbance, Ekpunobi argued that the allegations were contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Jigawa State. A middle aged man has been arrested in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital for being in possession of human parts. Tribune Online gathered that the suspect had been under surveillance of residents of Ita Kudimo, Abata Suban, Pakata area of Ilorin West local government in the past few days after speculation grew that he possessed a corpse in his building. It was also gathered that the neighbours of the suspect swooped on his residence at about noon on Sunday and the suspect was allegedly caught with human parts. He was later dragged to Adewole Police station in the Ilorin metropolis amidst shouting and rain of curses by the crowd of people. Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students. Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa state, has attributed his arrest and perceived persecution to his desire to run for president in 2019. This was disclosed by his chief press secretary, Umar Kyari, in a chat with The Vanguard on Monday.
