GHANA-MAN KILLS SON FOR RITUALS

A 31-year-old farmer, Abdul Salam, has been arrested by the Asankragwa police for purportedly killing his six-year-old son for alleged ritual purposes.

 The incident reportedly occurred at Adidaase, near Amanso Amenfi in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region yesterday.

 According to eyewitness reports, the man allegedly cut off his son’s head and legs to be sent to a spiritualist to help him (father) get more money.

 Some of the residents explained that the mother reported to the elders of the farming community that her six-year-old boy had got missing.

 The unit committee members in the area subsequently formed a search party to look for the little boy.

 When the father, Abdul Salam, was confronted, he allegedly admitted killing his own son and removing some parts of the body for rituals.

 “Upon interrogation, Abdul Salam confessed that he murdered the little boy to sell the head and the legs for ritual purposes,” one resident alleged.

 DAILY GUIDE has gathered that Abdul Salam is currently in the custody of the Asankragwaa police pending further investigations.

Police started the investigation in March 2016 when three female employees of Dee's Kitchen at 509 Howe Ave. in Shelton went to police to report that 58-year-old Bryan Stockbridge, of Ansonia, was sexually harassing them and had touched them inappropriately on several occasions. Shelton police obtained information today that Stockbridge was back in Connecticut, living in Ansonia, and they took him into custody. Stockbridge has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court tomorrow.

Gunmen Sunday abducted a would-be couple, the best man and their friends at Akunnu-Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State on their way to Akure, the Ondo State capital for their engagement ceremony. THISDAY gathered that the groom, Moses Yakubu, his would-be wife and three of their friends were coming from Okene in Kogi State and heading to Akure for the engagement slated for Sunday when the car in which they were travelling was seized at gunpoint at Akunnu-Akoko. The father of the bride, Mr Ahmed Yakubu, who confirmed the incident, said the bride and her younger sister were later set free by the kidnappers but took away the groom and his friends. Suspected Boko Haram Members Kill 10-Year-Old Boy February 16, 2017 Policemen attached to the Inspector- General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris’ Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), have arrested suspected Boko Haram members, who abducted a 10-year-old boy in Maiduguri, Borno State and later stabbed him to death. The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken over some properties traced to a former special adviser to Dan Abia,erstwhile managing director of Niger Delta Commission (NDDC) Mr George Turnah. The anti-graft agency said the confiscation was done on Thursday, May 25 following an interim forfeiture order granted it by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. It was learnt that one of the properties covered by the forfeiture order is a massive complete building known as ‘KOLO VILLA’ in Kolo Town, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state. The EFCC said apart from the properties, the court also ordered the taking over of some accounts belonging to the suspect.
