TWO COPS KILLED BY YET TO BE IDENTIFIED GUNMEN

Two Policemen have been shot dead along Okene-Ogori-Mangogo road in Kogi Central by unknown gunmen.

 It was reliably gathered that the two Policemen were on duty in the early hours of today when they were attacked by the gunmen.

 Sources close to the Kogi State Police Command told our correspondent that the suspected killers went away with their AK-47 adding that the command has taken moves to arrest the gunmen.

 The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu while confirming the killings said that it was a sad day for the command, adding that it was on the trail of the perpetrators.

 He assured members of the public that they will arrest the killers in the next few days.

 Also speaking, the administrator of Ogori-Mangogo Local Government Council, Mr. Moses Akande said it was unfortunate that the two policemen were killed by unknown gunmen when they were on duty.

 He urged the state Police command to do everything possible to arrest the criminals.

IPOB STANDS PROSCRIBED A TERRORIST GROUP -FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

The Federal Government of Nigeria, Tuesday, threw its weight on the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the categorisation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation by both the south-east governors and the Nigerian army, respectively, saying the activities of the group are similar to those of other terrorist groups. After weeks of intensive manhunt, the Lagos state police command has arrested one Ismaila Adeyemi, 49, the suspected mastermind and killer of Hector Jobateh (the 2007 winner of Gulder Ultimate search) who was traced and shot dead at his residence at New Oko-Oba in Agege, Lagos State. The suspect who was arrested at gas line Ominiyi in Ijoko area of Ogun state, confessed to the crime and other numerous crimes, while other members of his gang have been arrested.  People fleeing from violence in Central African Republic . Thousands of people have fled their homes as violence continues to engulf the south-eastern city of Bangassou in the Central African Republic (CAR), the UN on said Monday. More than 3,000 people had fled within hours of violence erupting late Friday when members of the mainly-Christian anti-Balaka militia attacked civilians and a UN field office. UN peacekeepers exchanged fire with anti-Balaka Monday, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. Dujarric did not comment on reports that militiamen had agreed to leave the city on condition that UN troops stop firing at them.
