TWO COPS KILLED BY YET TO BE IDENTIFIED GUNMEN

Two Policemen have been shot dead along Okene-Ogori-Mangogo road in Kogi Central by unknown gunmen.

 It was reliably gathered that the two Policemen were on duty in the early hours of today when they were attacked by the gunmen.

 Sources close to the Kogi State Police Command told our correspondent that the suspected killers went away with their AK-47 adding that the command has taken moves to arrest the gunmen.

 The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu while confirming the killings said that it was a sad day for the command, adding that it was on the trail of the perpetrators.

 He assured members of the public that they will arrest the killers in the next few days.

 Also speaking, the administrator of Ogori-Mangogo Local Government Council, Mr. Moses Akande said it was unfortunate that the two policemen were killed by unknown gunmen when they were on duty.

 He urged the state Police command to do everything possible to arrest the criminals.

FORMER BBC STUDIO CORDONED OFF AFTER MAN'S BODY WAS DISCOVERED

A man’s body has been discovered on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre. The body was found this morning at the building site on Oxford Road, which is currently being transformed into student flats. Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off. Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area. Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death. The victim is believed to have been discovered by building site staff on Monday morning. It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend. A statement from GMP said: “Shortly before 7:50am on Monday, May 8, 2017, police were called to reports that a body had been found on Oxford Road in Manchester city centre. “Enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.” It is understood building staff working on the site have been told to stop working until further notice. A prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) Church in Lagos, Mr. Alimi Isaiah, 55, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly being in possession of human skull and a horn. POLICEMAN MURDERED,RIFFLE STOLEN BY HOODLUMS

Barely one week after a policeman lost his service rifle to unknown gunmen, another policeman has been attacked and killed by unidentified hoodlums in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. The unnamed policeman was reportedly killed in a beer parlour in the state capital. It was learnt that the hoodlums stole a police AK47 rifle after murdering the policeman at one of the relaxation spots on Hospital Road area. Christian Nwosu An ex - Administrative Secretary with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Christian Nwosu , on Thursday alleged that he was cajoled into confessing to taking a bribe of N 30m to compromise the 2015 general elections.
