SENATE TO INVESTIGATE KOGI STATE CHIEF OF STAFF

The Nigeria Senate has received a petition against Kogi state Chief of Staff, Edward Onoja, accusing him of being a party to a N53 million fraud while a Guarantee Trust Bank PLC member of staff.

While submitting the petition against Onoja on Wednesday, Senator Hamma Misau (APC/Bauchi Central) explained that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had sometime ago invited Onoja, but he was let off the hook.

Senate President Bukola Saraki, while admitting the petition, asked the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions headed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP/Imo East) to do a thorough investigation and revert to the Chambers.

The petition is coming at a time the National Assembly is entangled in a face-off with Kogi state government over the circumstances surrounding Senator Dino Melaye's recall.

Edward Onoja worked with Guarantee Trust Bank PLC before being appointed into office.

A disgruntled husband killed his wife during their cruise-ship vacation because "she would not stop laughing at me," according to newly filed court papers. Kenneth Manzanares attacked his wife, Kristy, inside their cabin aboard the Emerald Princess cruise ship Tuesday night, according to an affidavit filed Wednesday in Alaska federal court. A witness told authorities that when he entered blood-splattered Cabin D726 — where the Manzanareses were staying — Kristy, 39, was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Nigerian policeman pays 15-yr-old girl for sex,collects his money back at gunpoint   27-year-old Chukwuemeka Ekwonna, a washington, D.C., police officer has been charged with soliciting sex from a 15-year-old in Glen Burnie and then robbing her at gunpoint, in January. 72-year-old Clarence White who got fed up of his wife complaining about his inability to satisfy her sexually or financially ended up pulling the trigger on her. The man is said to have grabbed a 22-caliber handgun and shot his much-younger wife in the face at their Bronx home on Thursday morning. Sources told the New York Daily News that the shooting followed an argument between White and his 28-year-old wife over her growing dissatisfaction with his inability to satisfy her financially or sexually.
