Two people have been reportedly killed while two others were abducted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

They were allegedly killed on their farmlands at Alau Lawanti, a village on the outskirt of Maiduguri.

Bulama Modu, a resident of Dalori quarters told reporters in Maiduguri that the corpses of the men killed by Boko Haram were brought to the village in the evening by security operatives and members of the civilian JTF.

According to him, the farmers were gruesomely murdered by their attackers, who violently stabbed and cut their victims with daggers.

"The corpses were taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. The families I learnt are retrieving the corpses for burial today.

"It is a very sad situation that Boko Haram is still perpetuating evil very close to us and go free without them being arrested or pursued to the end‎," he added

Former President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the theft of his property from his house in Abuja. He confirmed the incident in a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, following some media reports that the home was stripped bare and some of the items stolen were being sold in markets. "The house, which the former President bought from CITEC estate developers in 2004, was totally stripped bare by the thieves who stole every movable item in the house including furniture sets, beds, electronics, toilet and electrical fittings, as well as all internal doors and frames." The Police has arrested a suspected gang Leader in Ogun State for impersonation and the murder of a middle aged motorboy after an altercation in Abeokuta, the state capital. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has set up a team to investigate the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
