Two people have been reportedly killed while two others were abducted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

They were allegedly killed on their farmlands at Alau Lawanti, a village on the outskirt of Maiduguri.

Bulama Modu, a resident of Dalori quarters told reporters in Maiduguri that the corpses of the men killed by Boko Haram were brought to the village in the evening by security operatives and members of the civilian JTF.

According to him, the farmers were gruesomely murdered by their attackers, who violently stabbed and cut their victims with daggers.

"The corpses were taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. The families I learnt are retrieving the corpses for burial today.

"It is a very sad situation that Boko Haram is still perpetuating evil very close to us and go free without them being arrested or pursued to the end‎," he added

The Nigerian Air Force has sentenced to death by hanging Airman Kalu Bernard, for killing his lover, Solape Oladipupo, aka Shomzy Shomzy, on March 12, 2017. The judgment, which started at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, dragged till 4 p.m. when it was stood down before the panelists reconvened at 7:30 p.m. Reading out the 70-page court findings, which lasted for about two hours, the Judge Advocate, Flight Lieutenant M.A. Umoh, listed the eight-count charges against 21-year-old Kalu to include murder, house breaking, impersonation, attempted murder, among others. The defense counsel, Abimiku Ewuga, urged the court to temper justice with mercy, saying the accused was his family breadwinner. The President of the court, Gp. Capt. A 40-year-old man, Stephen Akpata, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Onyinye Faustina Eze, to death at the Kpansia suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
