HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY AFTER PERSON FOUND DEAD OFF I-25 NEAR GREENLAND EXIT

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Detectives said the death of a person found on the shoulder of I-25 near the Greenland exit turned into a homicide investigation Saturday.
A spokesperson with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said dispatchers received an emergency call at 10:13 a.m. about a body on the shoulder of the highway.
The death was not related to a vehicle crash.
The right lane of southbound I-25 was closed two miles south of the Greenland exit for several hours. It reopened just before 5 p.m.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the on-site investigation was ongoing.

The Nigerian government has reacted to the killing of a Nigerian identified as Rasak Alao in South Africa. Recall that the Nigerian man, an auto mechanic, was on Thursday killed in South Africa after he was attacked alongside other Nigerians in Polokwane, Limpopo Province in South Africa. Reports indicated that the men were attacked following suspicions that they were into drug trafficking. Rasak Alao whose car was burnt lost his life in the attack which was carried out on him and five other Nigerians. In reaction, the Federal government issued a statement condemning the act and repeated attack on Nigerian nationals living in the country. T wenty six year-old Alice Awuor Omito from Rongo, Migori County, Kenya, has shocked many after confessing that preparing the dead for burial is the one thing that makes her happy. The employee of Rosewood Funeral Home in Rongo said that she dropped out of nursing school after fears that she would not secure employment after school. The mortician began working as a morgue attendant at Star Mortuary in Kisumu two years ago, aged 24 before transferring to Rosewood in Rongo and says that she can't imagine being away from the dead. "I enjoy spending a better part of my working days with the dead. I can't imagine staying away from them even for a single working day. A teenage father with a tattoo covering half his face saying DEVAST8 has cried out over his struggle to get a job. 19 year old Mark Cropp , who was recently released from prison, put a plea out on Facebook saying his facial tattoo was stopping him securing employment. He also said his tattoo which is not gang affiliated- wasn 't planned and was not supposed to be quite as big. Investigators say the Saturday morning disappearance of a 15-day-old infant from Newton County is suspicious.  Caliyah McNabb's parents called 911 when they noticed she was missing around 10 a.m. Saturday, Channel 2 Action News reported. They told officials she was fed at 5 a.m. and she was gone when they woke up. Family members gave Channel 2 a photo of the missing baby. The government of the United Kingdom has said it stands with Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents.
