Houses Belonging To Nigerians Burnt In South Africa By Nationals February 14,2017 Some South African nationals in Rosettenville, south of Johannesburg, have burned down about 15 houses belonging to immigrants, especially Nigerians residing there. The locals, who were apparently peeved, have accused the non-indigenes of turning their neighbourhood into a drug den. According to Africa Review, some shops belonging to foreign nationals in the area were also looted on Sunday, February 12, 2017. The South African residents in the area are of the opinion that Nigerians had illegally taken over most property and turned them into drug and prostitution dens, thereby calling for their sack from the neighbourhood. Confirming the attacks when contacted, Marc Gbaffou, African Diaspora Forum (ADM) chairperson, blamed Herman Mashaba, Johannesburg mayor, for his inflammatory comments. BREAKING: Rivers state commissioner of police is dead Mr Odesanya was said to have died this morning Tuesday, January 31 Rivers state commissioner of police Francis Bolaji Odesanya died outside Nigeria's shores. The Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mr. Francis Bolaji Odesanya has died in an Indian hospital after an assumed kidney failure. He was the 37th Rivers State Commissioner of Police, having succeeded Mr. Foluso Adebanjo on July 12, 2016. Odesanya joined the force on February 2, 1986, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his current position of Commissioner of Police.

Masaba, dies at 93 leaving behind 86 wives and over 170 children     The controversial super-polygamist and Islamic preacher, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bello Masaba is dead. He died yesterday afternoon after a brief illness in his Bida residence. He was 93 years.  His personal assistant, Alhaji Mutairu Salawudeen Bello, confirmed the development in an interview with our correspondent.   “The Janiza prayer and interment is slated for today by 10am,” Bello said.  He said the late octogenarian had fore-told his death and was prepared for it. “Baba had told us that his time was up. He told me personally during his last moment that he had completed his divine assignment and was ready to meet his creator. “He told us to remain dedicated to the cause of Islam and urged us all not to deviate from all his teachings on righteousness, piety and total submission to the will of Allah. Five men have been arrested after more than 100 police took part in dawn raids to disrupt a high value car leasing scam. Officers from Cheshire Constabulary and Greater Manchester Police targeted suspected criminals in eight properties across Oldham , Levenshulme and Stockport . The men, aged between 28 and 58-years-old, remain in police custody. It follows an investigation into an organised crime gang who are thought to have been fraudulently leasing high value cars, which are transported overseas and then never seen again. MAN FOUND SEVERELY STABBED TO DEATH,POLICE INVESTIGATING MURDER

Part of Keney Park in Hartford is taped off and closed as police investigate the death of a man in his 20s who was found with several stab wounds Wednesday morning. Two park workers found the man's body around 10 a.m. near a bridge in a marshy area of the park, police said. The victim had been stabbed in the face and neck several times, according to police, and they believe the homicide happened overnight. "He's suffering from several puncture wounds to the face, neck and possibly more," Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley. Police said a man was stabbed several times in Keney Park. (Published Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017) Around half a dozen police cars responded to the scene, which is near the pond house, and they are hoping surveillance cameras will have caught something. This has been the 19th homicide of the year in Hartford.
