Wednesday, 1 February 2017 (Photo) Married policeman breaks woman’s jaw for withholding girlfriend’s whereabouts A 30-year-old woman, Oluchukwu Ezemaduka, is currently battling with a damaged jaw at a private hospital, West Care Specialist Hospital in Akowonjo, Lagos, after she was allegedly battered by a riot policeman, Idiahgbe Iyobosa. Iyobosa, who is attached to a bank in the FESTAC Town, was said to have repeatedly hit the woman in the jaw with his service boots until blood gushed out. Oluchukwu is the friend and roommate of Iyobosa’s girlfriend, Maryjane Anyagwa. The friends live on Awoyemi Street, off Coker Road, Ejigbo. PUNCH Metro learnt that Iyobosa had visited his girlfriend in Ejigbo on Saturday, January 21, at about 9pm, with a view to passing the night at her place, but met only Oluchukwu at home. 83 Nigerians deported from UK arrive Lagos  Just few days after the United States under the administration of Trump put a ban on immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries, the United Kingdom has also deported 83 Nigerians. The deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, early morning of Wednesday, February 1. Among those deported are residents whose documents had expired and prisoners who have almost completed their prison term. The deportees were received by Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA,Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, police men and aviation security personnel. Communal clash claims lives in Taraba Several people lost their lives and several houses torched in a renewed violence that broke out, yesterday, in Taraba State. Locals stated that the Tuesday’s violence started around 2 a.m. when two villages, Bonja and Mayo-Kunga belonging to Fulani ethnic group, were allegedly attacked by suspected Mummuye youths,the attack on the Mayo-Kunga village led to reprisal attacks on neighbouring communities. Police Public Relations Officer for Taraba State,Mr David Misal said only six people were killed in the mayhem,according to him, “since the Friday attack between the Fulani herdsmen and Mummuye farmers in Lushi, there have been reprisal attacks.“For now, six persons were confirmed killed on both sides, while several others have been arrested.” Mr. Misal also confirmed that 80 houses were razed in the violence

Loyal Dog Stabbed Six Times For Trying To Protect His Owner This story proves that the old saying is true- dogs are man’s best friend.  According to the Facebook page of the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Center, a family’s  loyal dog  was stabbed six times as he placed his own life at risk trying to protect his owners from their own son.  At the family’s home in Kibler Park, Johannesburg, the dog heard a loud noise and ran to the family’s aid.  “It’s alleged that the son wanted to stab his parents with a knife and the dog heard the screams and came to their aid, and as a result, sustained six stab wounds,” the  Soweto Animal Rescue  wrote on their  Facebook .  The dog has since been rescued and is receiving treatment at Kibler Park Veterinarian hospital.  An order of protection has been granted to the parents against their son, and authorities are still searching for the suspect....
