The Nigeria Navy said it had impounded a vessel and two large wooden boats both transporting 240, 000 litres of stolen diesel worth N 70 million. The commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder , Port Harcourt , Commodore William Kayoda , disclosed this to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday Kayoda said that a total 12 suspects were arrested on board the vessel and boats. He said the seizure was part of ongoing clampdown on oil theft , piracy and pipeline vandalism in the maritime domain in Rivers and its environs. He said , " In continuation of our clampdown on activities of oil thieves, troops of NNS Pathfinder impounded one vessel MV Omisan loaded with 120, 000 litres of petroleum product suspected to be illegally refined diesel . " Additionally, two very large wooden barges known as Cotonou boats were equally impounded while carrying about 120, 000 litres of stolen diesel in combined capacity. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday arraigned a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mohammed Dele Belgore at the Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged money laundering. Himself and a former minister of National Planning Prof Abubakar Suleiman before Justice Mohammed Aikawa were arraigned on a five-count charge. EFCC accused them of conspiring to directly take possession of the N450million, which they reasonably ought to have known forms part of the proceeds of an unlawful act. The commission said they committed the alleged offense on March 27, 2015, contrary to Section 18(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012. In the second count, EFCC said they "directly took possession of the sum." In the third count, the defendants were accused of conspiring to make cash payment of N450million, which "exceeded the amount authorized by law without going through financial institution." The woman, identified as Sarah Simirayi of Svisvi, Zimbabwe, carried out her estranged, deceased husband's demands by having sex with his body before burial. Sarah, who had left her husband for her new lover had recently moved back to her hometown after she was dumped by her lover. However, her estranged husband, Nunurayi Musamo, 68, died soon after she returned. In a note which Nunurayi left behind, he asked it to be read at his funeral.
