The Benue State government has denied the reports alleging that the consignments containing snakes intercepted by the Nigeria Customs in Calabar belongs to Governor Samuel Ortom. It described it as another desperate smear campaign by members of the opposition. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Terver Akase Mr Akase said the report published on social media by some opposition elements had once more brought to the fore the sponsored publications to attack the person of the Governor in order to distract him from continued delivery of good governance to the people of the state. According to him, the original report on the interception of the consignments did not name the owner of the containers. "That report on the intercepted consignments in Calabar which was skewed and published on facebook by opposition members in Benue State is proof that most of these young men who call themselves opposition on social media are bereft of any idea to help develop their state. "The ca...
THEME: SALVATION: HOW GENUINE? Memorise: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13 Read: 2 CORINTHIANS 7:9-11 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. Message: God's offer of salvation is for all those who come to Him. To access this salvation however, there are certain criteria you must meet. For instance, you cannot experience salvation without g...
A father and his daughter have been reunited after a staggering 35 years apart. In heartwarming footage, shuffling nervously towards the front door, Dwight Craig, from Elkton, Michigan, USA, can be seen preparing himself for a moment he has waited more than three decades for. Dwight tentatively approaches his daughter, Carrie's car, but as soon as she emerges from within, the three and a half decades that have parted them until now seem very much forgotten. With arms stretched wide and tear stained cheeks, Carrie and her dad embrace in a long-overdue hug that lasts for several minutes, broken only by the revelation they 'have the same eyes'. The pair hug for the first time Carrie, who drove 550 miles from her hometown in Flint, Michigan, for the emotional reunion, said: "I had waited almost my entire life for this moment. "For so many years I had this empty feeling inside of me about not knowing my dad or the life he's made without me, but that...
March 14th,2017 The physical devastation left by the Syrian war is tangible. But a less visible, more insidious damage is hurting the country's most vulnerable. Save the Children's 'Invisible Wounds' report found that Syria's children are suffering from a condition called 'toxic stress' , due to living in an almost constant state of fear and terror. In order to visualize the invisible, the NGO commissioned photographer Nick Ballon and conceptual artist Alma Haser to create a series of animated portraits and short videos. Ballon's thoughtful photos combined with Haser's paper manipulation techniques – folding, crumpling, ripping and origami – attempt to show the intense psychological pain these children suffer. Ballon shot the portraits of the refugee children near the Turkish-Syrian border. He got to know them at their orphanage, in a place where they felt comfortable, but shot the portraits on the streets. "The lighting was the key element,...

Texas church killer Devin Patrick Kelley never should have been able to buy his assault rifle, military brass admitted Monday — acknowledging that the Air Force failed to tell the FBI he had been court-martialed for domestic violence. Under federal law, Kelley's 2012 conviction for beating his wife and cracking his infant stepson's skull should have barred him from possessing any firearms after he served 12 months in the brig and was slapped with a "bad conduct" discharge in 2014 . But the fiend amassed a small arsenal by legally purchasing one weapon a year — two each in Texas and Colorado — between 2014 and 2017, authorities said. The former airman was able to pass mandatory background checks because his military criminal record wasn't entered into the FBI's National Crime Information Center database, the Air Force said in a statement . Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein have ordered "a complete review of...
The United Nations Security Council has condemned North Korea's latest missile launch as an "outrageous action" after it was called into an emergency session to discuss Pyongyang's longest-ever test flight of a ballistic missile. Key points: *North's intermediate-range weapon launch on Friday signalled defiance of rivals *President Moon Jae-in says South has strength to "inflict a level of damage it would be impossible to recover from" *Annual gathering of world leaders at General Assembly will discuss North Korea South Korean President Moon Jae-in, a liberal who initially pushed for talks with North Korea, said its tests currently made dialogue "impossible". "The sanctions and pressure by the international community will only tighten so that North Korea has no choice but to take the path for genuine dialogue [for nuclear disarmament]," Mr Moon said. "If North Korea provokes us or our allies, we have the strength to smash the att...
Prince Harry's Engagement To Meghan Markle Barely breaking the rules: Meghan Markle didn't wear pantyhose to her engagement announcement with Prince Harry on Monday. She hasn't even married her prince yet and Meghan Markle has already committed her first royal fashion faux pas — she went bare-legged in public! The 36-year-old "Suits" star showed up sans pantyhose to her engagement announcement with Prince Harry on Monday, and apparently that's a something of a royal no-no, reports The Cut. While the rule isn't exactly set in stone in some strict royal-family style book, enthusiasts of the monarchy note that Queen Elizabeth herself has worn pantyhose in public for the past, oh, 91 years. Kate Middleton, too, famously wears pantyhose. In fact, many credit the stylish duchess, who usually wears glossy, sheer tights in public, with bringing hose back in vogue for younger Brits. 10 Royal Kisses Caught on Camera Gallery courtesy of T...
REX TILLERSON US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson firmly denied Wednesday that he had fallen out with Donald Trump and vowed to remain in post, dismissing a report that he had once called the president a “moron.” For his part, Trump declared he has “total confidence” in his top diplomat after both had denied an explosive report that Tillerson became so frustrated over the summer that he considered resigning. According to the NBC News story, which cited “multiple senior administration officials” but was described as “erroneous” by the State Department, Tillerson had referred to Trump as a “moron” at a July 20 Pentagon meeting. Afterwards, the report said, Tillerson met with Vice President Mike Pence, who urged him to show more respect, and with other senior officials who urged him not to resign. Appearing before reporters at a hastily organized news conference in the State Department, Tillerson denied the report and pledged Trump his full support. ...
