The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has set up a team to investigate the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal. This was disclosed to DAILY POST by a source within the commission. The operative also confirmed that former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke, would also be invited. The EFCC promised to do a thorough job, adding that nobody would be given preferential treatment. "The former SGF and ex-NIA boss will be invited. Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has stated that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were only demanding for their legitimate right. He advised people not to dismiss their agitation but try to reason with them. Kalu said as far he was concerned, IPOB members' clamour was for conducive atmosphere that will enable their businesses thrive. Agu Echezona Harrison, 37, has been remanded in prison custody by an Ikeja High Court, Lagos for sexually assaulting his 6-year-old daughter, by allegedly inserting his fingers into her vagina. Harrison was arraigned on a one count charge of sexual assault. The prosecuting officer, Adebayo Haroun, told the Court that the accused committed the offence between 2013 and 2015 at  No. 23 Rotimi Omotosho Street , Isheri Osun. Akukwe Priscilla, Harrison's wife, who reported the case to the police, said that the defendant was fond of touching the little girl's private part. Serial child killer Ian Brady was cremated and his ashes buried at sea in the middle of the night in a top secret operation, it can be reported. The Moors Murderer, who used the name Ian Stewart-Brady, died aged 79 on May 15 this year and was incinerated without ceremony. Ian Brady's ashes were buried at sea after being driven to Liverpool Marina last Wednesday, it has been confirmed. Mr. Olajide Fasakin, an aide to the embattled former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform, Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina, has said that his boss was in hiding so as not to be killed. According to Fasakin, Maina took the measure after escaping several assassination attempts from perceived enemies. The many victims of police harassment around Nigeria have opened up on how they were tortured by the law enforcement agents. Despite receiving training on human rights of citizens, officers of the Nigeria Police Force have continued to unlawfully detain, torture, and harass members of the public, victims of police abuse told a human rights panel in Lagos. The panel, which comprised members of the National Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Law Services, held a public hearing on police abuses in Nigeria on Monday. Over 30 participants were in attendance including the Network of Police Reforms in Nigeria, Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, and other civil society organizations. Monday Okoro, an ex-convict recently released from Enugu Prisons; and Chidiebere Oke, have been arrested for specializing in robbing, raping and blackmailing female victims in Enugu.
