The annual Oodua Festival 2017 edition held at the Palace Square of Ooni of Ife, Ile-Ife, State of Osun.

The festival was graced by His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan, Zaki of Arigidi Akokoland Oba Yisa Olanipekun and other members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Oodua Progressive Union (OPU).
Speaking at the event, the Ooni of Ife urged Yorubas to always remember their ancestral home, ensure unity and progress of the Yoruba race.
The festival which is powered by the Olokun Festival Foundation witnessed dance performance by different troupes.

No fewer than 700 suspected cultists and 38 suspected armed robbers were arrested in different parts of Anambra in the last three weeks, Garba Umar, the state commissioner of police, has said. A nurse has become the first in a wheelchair to work on the frontline of the NHS.Michelle Quested, 33, lost the use of her legs in a car accident seven years ago. But the dedicated nurse was determined not to let her disability get in the way of her clinical work at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. 3 killed in bank robbery in Owerri in Imo state, Feb 23rd 2017; No fewer than three people have been killed and several others wounded including a police officer, after unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers attacked a Zenith bank branch in Owerri, the Imo state capital. Eye witness accounts say the armed robbers, numbering about 12, invaded the bank at about 2:00 pm on Wednesday and shot sporadically into the air to scare customers away after over-powering the security operatives on duty. The men were also said to have carted away a yet to be disclosed amount of money. The 7 year olds mother says this photo was taken after police put the boy in handcuffs. The mother of a 7-year-old child is demanding answers after her son was allegedly handcuffed at school and taken to a mental health facility in Texas. “My son is a special-needs child, and he requires those special needs,” the boy’s mother, April Obis, told WBRC Fox 6 News. According to Obis, her son has attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which can result in disruptive behavior. A trained counselor at Gabe P. Former President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the theft of his property from his house in Abuja. He confirmed the incident in a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, following some media reports that the home was stripped bare and some of the items stolen were being sold in markets. German national dies after slumping at Lagos airport A German national, Mr Brenard Christo, who slumped  on Friday  at the General Aviation Terminal of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, has died at an undisclosed hospital. The spokesman for the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the death of the German to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  on Saturday .
