She’s too troublesome, man tells court •Separate us, but give me our children —Wife
An Idi Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi-Ibadan in Oyo State, has dissolved the 15-year-old marriage between Lukman Hammed and his wife, Yetunde, over constant nagging by the wife.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the President of the court, Chief Mukaila Balogun, said evidence by both parties proved that the union that produced two children lacked love.
He then dissolved the marriage and ordered that the eldest child of the marriage should be in the custody of the plaintiff, while the second child should be in the custody of her mother.
The court president directed the plaintiff to pay N3,000 monthly for the upkeep of the second child that would stay with the mother.
He granted the restrain order on the defendant from molesting and harassing the plaintiff, saying both parties should stay clear from each other as they were no more husband and wife.
Earlier, Hammed had approached the court seeking for the dissolution of the marriage on the grounds that his wife was nagging and troublesome.
He prayed the court to restrain the woman from harassing and molesting him, saying he could not cope with her character again.
The defendant did not oppose the dissolution of the marriage, but wanted the court to allow her have the two children of the marriage in her custody.
