4 days after, kidnappers of 3 friends in Abuja contact family, demand ransom

Almost a week after three friends were reported missing from a popular spot in Abuja, some people who claim to have them in their possession have contacted the family, demanding a ransom.

Veronica Otogo and Bisola Mohammed had gone to Coldstone creamery to make purchases for the celebration of Veronica's birthday, and didn't come home eventually. They were also joined by their friend Damilola Oribuyaku.
Please, join us in praying for the safety of these young people in the hands of these criminals. May God let us find them alive and in one piece. One of our brothers was hit on the head with the b*tt of a gun in front of this same ice-cream parlour at Gwarimpa last year.
Criminals now target places frequently visited by middle class. Let us be security conscious as Nigeria is going through a very hard period.

The State Security Service (SSS), on Saturday, announced the arrest of Husseini Maitangaran, a top commander of by Islamic State of West Africa (ISWA), otherwise known as Boko Haram. He was arrested in Kano on 31 August.  Maitangaran, according to a statement issued by the service, spearheaded several deadly attacks in Kano in 2012. Policemen from the Ipakodo division have arrested a suspected killer of a family of three in Ibeshe Titun, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. It was learnt that the suspect, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was arrested on Tuesday in the community. A resident, who asked not to be identified, said the suspect had been taken into custody and was being interrogated by the police. He said, “The man was arrested this morning (Tuesday) and he confessed to being a member of the gang that attacked and killed members of the family. German national dies after slumping at Lagos airport A German national, Mr Brenard Christo, who slumped  on Friday  at the General Aviation Terminal of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, has died at an undisclosed hospital. The spokesman for the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the death of the German to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  on Saturday . Alabi said the deceased was waiting to board a local Arik Air flight  on Friday  morning when he suddenly collapsed.
