An Omi-Adio Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan on Wednesday ordered the remand of six men over the alleged murder of Anthony Okeyin , the Commandant, Command Day Secondary School, Apata, Ibadan.
The defendants- Solomon Agada-Emmanuel, 20; Taiwo Adeniyi, 33; Kehinde Bibisoye, 27; Andrew Ewere , 25; Udobata Orusa-Uzi, 28, and Ephraim Obi, 38 – were arraigned on charges bordering on conspiracy, robbery and murder.
The Chief Magistrate, Risikat Ebeloku –Mustapha, ordered that the six accused persons be remanded at Agodi Prison pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.
The pleas of the six accused persons were not taken, while the case was adjourned till March 28, for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Musiliu Fatola, had told the court that the defendants allegedly robbed and killed the army colonel on December 11, 2016, in the school.
Mr. Fatola, a police inspector, also said that the suspects robbed Okeyin of his Samsung X4 cell phone.
“The suspects allegedly caused the death of one Ekok Okeyin, 52, unlawfully by throwing him from upstairs to the ground floor, which led to his death,” the prosecutor said.
Mr. Fatola said that the offences contravened Sections 316, 324 and 401 and punishable under Sections 319 and 402 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II Laws of Oyo State 2000.

    A bloody clash between the army and police in Nigeria's restive northeastern Yobe state on Wednesday left one soldier and three police dead, a security source told AFP.  The police confirmed the fracas in the state capital of Damaturu, but did not say if there were casualties.  "The Nigeria police force is abreast of the unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of today 12th April, 2017 in Damaturu between the personnel of the force and that of the Nigerian army," police spokesman Jimoh Moshood said in a statement.  He said an investigation had been launched to determine "the causes of the incident and deal with the situation appropriately to prevent such occurrence in the future".  The army authorities were not immediately available for comment.     A 45-year-old suspected ritualist who was arrested by the Police in Lagos with a human skull, has disclosed that he sold fresh human skull for N1 million. The suspect, Lucien Tusume, was arrested at Iraye village in Sagamu area of Ogun State, following intelligence report. Explaining the circumstance that led to the arrest of the suspected ritualist, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said some policemen, who disguised as buyers, contacted the suspect for a human skull. The suspect reportedly agreed to sell a dried skull for N150,000 to the undercover operatives, but the officers bargained for N81,000 which he accepted.The suspect later took the dried human skull to the 'buyers', and he was subsequently arrested after payment was made to him.
