About 97 Nigerians have been deported from South Africa for alleged civil and criminal offences.
The deportees – 95 males and two females – arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport from Johannesburg on Monday night.
Those accused of criminal offences were handed over to the police for prosecution, while those accused of committing civil offences were allowed to go home.
This is coming a few days after a South African mob attacked Nigerians and their businesses in the country.
The Nigerian government condemned the attacks, and also threatened consequences if they are not checked.
The Nigerian senate has also resolved to send a strong delegation to the country to protest against the attacks.
In the space of a month, about 500 Nigerians have been deported  from different countries.
Last week, 314 Nigerians were forced to return home as a result of harrowing experiences in Libya.
On Thursday, Cameroon repatriated 517 Nigerians, while Germany, Italy and Belgium deported 43 Nigerians on Friday.
On Monday, 41 Nigerians girls who were trafficked to Mali returned.
The economic situation in the country has made many consider the other option of seeking green pasture abroad.

FORMER SHELTON MANAGER ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING EMPLOYEES

The former manager of a Shelton restaurant is accused of sexually harassing employees and touching them inappropriately. Police started the investigation in March 2016 when three female employees of Dee's Kitchen at 509 Howe Ave. in Shelton went to police to report that 58-year-old Bryan Stockbridge, of Ansonia, was sexually harassing them and had touched them inappropriately on several occasions. Detectives quickly obtained an arrest warrant, but they could not apprehend him, police said. They then obtained information that Stockbridge fled to California after an interview with detectives. Shelton police obtained information today that Stockbridge was back in Connecticut, living in Ansonia, and they took him into custody. Stockbridge has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court tomorrow.

Suspected Boko Haram Members Kill 10-Year-Old Boy February 16, 2017 Policemen attached to the Inspector- General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris’ Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), have arrested suspected Boko Haram members, who abducted a 10-year-old boy in Maiduguri, Borno State and later stabbed him to death. The victim, Baa Goni Maina, was abducted on January 14 by 18-year-old Adam Bakura and his brother, Modu Bakura. He was killed three days later after his father couldn’t cough up the N10 million ransom the brothers demanded. It was learnt that although Maina’s father was comfortable, he was not rich enough to have N10 million. The suspect and deceased lived in the same community. When Maina was abducted, nobody bargained that Adam and his brother were behind it. Police said that the boy was tricked away from his street, down to a river bank. The suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal, on Tuesday appeared before the Yemi Osinbajo-led panel, where he answered questions over the alleged violations of due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). Lawal arrived the Presidential Villa around 1pm and was ushered before the Vice President. He left at 3.35pm. The panel had on Monday grilled the suspended Director-General of the National Inteligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke. Oke was suspended over the recovery of $43million from a Lagos apartment, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Obasanjo spotted in reading session with school children (photo) February 28  2017 Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has take a new dimension to celebrate his 80th birthday . Daily Trust reports that the ex-president took the train of celebration to some public-school students at his Ibogun village, near Ifo, Ogun state. He was spotted in a reading session with them. This is part of activities to mark his 80th birthday celebrations. He was in the company of his wife, Bola and some of his close allies as they were received by the school children drawn from Berly Chrysolite school (primary and secondary), Ewupe, Baptist Day school, Ibogun and baptist day school, Idi aga among others.
