Armed Robber Burnt To Death In Calabar

A dead man was found lying by the side of the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Murtala Mohammed Highway, closed to RCC roundabout, Calabar after he was burnt to death by an angry mob.

According to reports,the deceased was a member of a 5-man gang who invaded the Ikot Abasi Obori and the Kasuk town area of Calabar Municipal Area Council. They also robbed the popular Ikot Ishie Market at around 6pm yesterday.The armed robbers were with bulletproof charms (juju) which helps them escape from people.Unfortunately,he was caught after the juju failed him.

After they robbed the area,people teamed up and chased them down with planks and all kinds of weapons. They were carrying guns but it seemed they were with less bullets.The others ran away but the mob succeeded in catching the deceased.He was beaten and cut but the cuts did not penetrate.The crowd stripped him unclad and removed some red clothes perceived to be charms from around his waist,before any metal could penetrate him.He was later burnt to death by the angry crowd.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it had so far, through painstaking investigations by its operatives, traced N47.2bn and $487.5m in cash and properties to a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke. These, the anti-graft agency said, were apart from "boxes of gold, silver and diamond jewellery, worth several million British pounds sterling," discovered during a search of Diezani's palatial residences in Abuja. The EFCC said it discovered several of Diezani's landed properties scattered all over Lagos and other parts of the country in the course of its investigations, adding that it was doubtful if the former minister declared her true assets as required of public officials. Policemen from the Ipakodo division have arrested a suspected killer of a family of three in Ibeshe Titun, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. It was learnt that the suspect, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was arrested on Tuesday in the community. A resident, who asked not to be identified, said the suspect had been taken into custody and was being interrogated by the police. He said, “The man was arrested this morning (Tuesday) and he confessed to being a member of the gang that attacked and killed members of the family. He was beaten to a pulp by an angry mob as he also mentioned the names of their sponsors. Saudi police shoot dead IS suspect MARCH 8TH 2017,          Police in Saudi Arabia said Wednesday they shot dead a member of the Islamic State group in the capital, the latest suspected jihadist to be killed by security forces. According to several media reports, Miss Olivia Uchechi Ihionu lost her life at Adoration Ministry Uke on 15 August 2017. The deceased was the first daughter of her parents. She got engaged last Christmas and wass preparing to be married this Christmas. According to an eyewitness, she went to urinate in a nearby gutter after arriving the prayer ground and suddenly went missing. Due to heavy rainfall that day, she apparently drowned. It was later discovered that she fell into gutter, her lifeless body was found in the neighbouring village the following day.
