Armed Robber Burnt To Death In Calabar

A dead man was found lying by the side of the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Murtala Mohammed Highway, closed to RCC roundabout, Calabar after he was burnt to death by an angry mob.

According to reports,the deceased was a member of a 5-man gang who invaded the Ikot Abasi Obori and the Kasuk town area of Calabar Municipal Area Council. They also robbed the popular Ikot Ishie Market at around 6pm yesterday.The armed robbers were with bulletproof charms (juju) which helps them escape from people.Unfortunately,he was caught after the juju failed him.

After they robbed the area,people teamed up and chased them down with planks and all kinds of weapons. They were carrying guns but it seemed they were with less bullets.The others ran away but the mob succeeded in catching the deceased.He was beaten and cut but the cuts did not penetrate.The crowd stripped him unclad and removed some red clothes perceived to be charms from around his waist,before any metal could penetrate him.He was later burnt to death by the angry crowd.

*Police were called to Piccadilly bus station after a suitcase was found on the 192 bus and a man reportedly ran from the scene A suitcase has been left on a bus at Piccadilly bus station sparking a security alert. Police were called to Portland Street after the suitcase was found on the 192 bus at 11.35am. Greater Manchester Police officers are on their way to the scene to investigate. It's understood a man got onto the Stagecoach bus and dropped the suitcase in the middle aisle. He then reportedly ran off the bus service, which was travelling from the city centre to Stockport. An attempt by a mother of two children to smuggle a phone to her boyfriend in prison custody has been foiled by the officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 33-year-old woman, Fatima Balogun who has been arrested by men of the Special Intelligence Unit of the NPS, carried out the action on Wednesday at the gate lodge of Abeokuta maximum Prisons in Ibara. The suspect confessed that she hid the phone which she bought for her boyfriend identified as Ganiyu Ajibode, in the cooler of soup from the Prisons officials. Balogun said she was a divorcee with two children before she met Ganiyu about two years back. A neurological disorder with no cure, Parkinson's can cause tremors, stiffness and difficulty balancing, walking and coordinating movement.   "My family and I began to notice changes about three years ago," Jackson wrote in a statement. Two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, who are brothers, have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area, Eggon Local Government Area of the state. The victim, simply identified as Esther, was reportedly ambushed and assaulted by the suspects at a secluded part of the road.
