Girl gang raped by five men, contemplates suicide



A 14-year old Ghanaian girl who was defiled by five men at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region, says she has been contemplating suicide for some time now, myjoyonline reports.

The traumatised girl dropped out of school at Class 4, after her ordeal, and says she is being haunted by the dastardly incident which has left her with life-threatening complications. 

Her revelations come as the Nkawkaw police arrest a third suspect, Awudu Kamiru, an 18-year-old head porter. The victim was strangled by her attackers in an attempt to murder her after having sexual intercourse with her in turns. 

The attackers confessed that the plan was to conceal their illegal act and avoid a possible arrest. But a Good Samaritan who found her in an unconscious state in the Trado stream, saved her life.

That act has since left her with walking difficulties whilst she bleeds profusely from her private parts. Police have so far arrested 3 suspects in connection with the act. 

25-year-old cobbler and ex-convict Yaw Preko and a driver's mate, Mohammed Adamu, were the first two to be arrested and arraigned before an Nkawkaw Magistrates Court. 

Efforts are underway to arrest two more suspects who are at large. Apart from the trauma, the girl says some residents in her neighbourhood have been making fun of her, while revealing that she has been contemplating suicide

Egypt on Thursday blocked 21 websites, including Qatari news network Al Jazeera and Islamist-affiliated platforms, following in the footsteps of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Communal clash claims lives in Taraba Several people lost their lives and several houses torched in a renewed violence that broke out, yesterday, in Taraba State. Locals stated that the Tuesday’s violence started around 2 a.m. when two villages, Bonja and Mayo-Kunga belonging to Fulani ethnic group, were allegedly attacked by suspected Mummuye youths,the attack on the Mayo-Kunga village led to reprisal attacks on neighbouring communities. Plane crash. FILE At least four people were killed on Saturday when a propeller-engine cargo plane crashed in the sea near the International Airport in Abidjan, a Reuters witness said. Six others were believed to have been injured in the crash of the Antonov aircraft which police said had 10 people on board. MOTHER ARRESTED FOR BEATING TEENAGE SON TO DEATH

A housewife, Bisola Olukoya, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing her 16-year-old son. The Command's Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident to PREMIUM TIMES on Friday said the suspect committed the crime at Onifade-Itele town of the state. "One Mrs Bisola Olukoya of NO 40, Ifelodun Street Onifade Itele has been arrested by the Ogun State Command for beating her 16 years old son Toheeb Olukoya to death," the police spokesperson said. Mr. Oyeyemi said the incident happened on March 17. He said the suspect, while beating the deceased, used a plank to hit him on the head, after which the boy fell down and died.
