Girl gang raped by five men, contemplates suicide



A 14-year old Ghanaian girl who was defiled by five men at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region, says she has been contemplating suicide for some time now, myjoyonline reports.

The traumatised girl dropped out of school at Class 4, after her ordeal, and says she is being haunted by the dastardly incident which has left her with life-threatening complications. 

Her revelations come as the Nkawkaw police arrest a third suspect, Awudu Kamiru, an 18-year-old head porter. The victim was strangled by her attackers in an attempt to murder her after having sexual intercourse with her in turns. 

The attackers confessed that the plan was to conceal their illegal act and avoid a possible arrest. But a Good Samaritan who found her in an unconscious state in the Trado stream, saved her life.

That act has since left her with walking difficulties whilst she bleeds profusely from her private parts. Police have so far arrested 3 suspects in connection with the act. 

25-year-old cobbler and ex-convict Yaw Preko and a driver's mate, Mohammed Adamu, were the first two to be arrested and arraigned before an Nkawkaw Magistrates Court. 

Efforts are underway to arrest two more suspects who are at large. Apart from the trauma, the girl says some residents in her neighbourhood have been making fun of her, while revealing that she has been contemplating suicide

Heavily armed policemen on Tuesday in Dutse, Jigawa State capital, fired teargas canisters at a crowd that gathered at the Chief Magistrate Court Two for the arraignment of former governor Sule Lamido, who is being tried for making inciting remarks. A middle aged man has been arrested in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital for being in possession of human parts. Tribune Online gathered that the suspect had been under surveillance of residents of Ita Kudimo, Abata Suban, Pakata area of Ilorin West local government in the past few days after speculation grew that he possessed a corpse in his building. It was also gathered that the neighbours of the suspect swooped on his residence at about noon on Sunday and the suspect was allegedly caught with human parts. Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students.
