Embattled Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye was today cleared by Vice Chancellor, Ahamadu Bello University, Prof. Ibrahim Garba on certificate and graduation controversies.
Prof. Garba, while appearing before the Senate ethics committee on Monday said "Yes, from records, Dino formerly known as Daniel Jonah Melaye graduated from the Ahmad Bello University with BA Geography."
However, ripples the controversy has generated goes beyond ascertaining his studentship or graduation.
Below are 5 questions the VC failed to answer today:
1. How was Dino admitted into ABU without 5 'O' level credits? Did he tender a result different from the one that surfaced online?
2. To study Geography, shouldn't he have obtained a better result than P8 in the subject?
3. Why was Dino's name given as 'Daniel Jonah MELAYE' in his statement of results; and 'Melaye Daniel Jonah O in the Senior School Certificate with which he was admitted?
4. How could Dino have participated in the national youth service in 2000 when he graduated in 2000? Did he finish in January, February or March and how fast his set mobilization?
5. Why is Dino's certificate not yet issued 17 years after graduation? and Which certificate did he tender to INEC prior to his Federal House of Reps and Senate elections?

A group of 40 Ethiopian nationals charged with being in Kenya illegally broke down and cried uncontrollably in court on Thursday after a magistrate ordered for their repatriation upon completing a one month jail term or pay a collective fine of Sh800,000 imposed on them. "Please have mercy on us. We are jobless and poor. We leave in abject poverty," the foreigners spoke loudly then " sat down and begun to cry after the magistrate imposed the sentence." The Borno State Police Command said on Wednesday that as a result of "Operation Safe Corridor," the counter-terrorism effort of the Nigerian military, two high profile commanders of the Boko Haram militant group have surrendered, along with their families. Egypt on Thursday blocked 21 websites, including Qatari news network Al Jazeera and Islamist-affiliated platforms, following in the footsteps of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Among those blocked since Wednesday evening is the website of the now-banned Muslim Brotherhood, Ikhwan Online, according to a report in the privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper. All websites blocked contain material that “support terrorism and extremism as well as publish lies,” a security source was quoted as saying. The Arabic edition of the Huffington Post was blocked, although the English-language version was accessible. The independent Cairo-based Mada Masr was another site blocked. Officers were called to Holmes Park Elementary School on Monday after a teacher found Megan Sloan's Facebook page open on a computer, according to KOKI-TV. Authorities say the page featured a conversation where Sloan reportedly asked about using and selling heroin. Detectives told KOKI that during the investigation, Sloan allegedly admitted to pawning two iPads that belonged to the school district.
