Eric and Lauren were driving a car behind their parents.The crash that killed a teenage brother and sister was so gruesome the first emergency responder on scene had a heart attack.

Eric Neibaur, 15, and his sister Lauren, 13, died in a head-on crash in the US state of Idaho last Sunday.

Jay Lanningham, 70, who was driving the other car, was also killed.
Bannock County Search and Rescue sent a team to the scene.

An emergency responder who was trying to remove the bodies suffered a massive heart attack at the scene and almost died himself.He was taken to hospital and is expected to recover.

The parents of Eric and Lauren were driving in front of them in another car at the time.

They were checking their rear view mirror when they realised the children's car was no longer behind them.

Their father, also called Eric, said they were as close as twins despite the age gap.

He told the Idaho Journal: "One of my favorite memories, and it continued to the very last day, was how they loved to torture each other.

"But also, how they loved each other very much."
Police are investigating and say they believe they know what caused the crash and will release their findings in due course.

The Borno State Police Command said on Wednesday that as a result of "Operation Safe Corridor," the counter-terrorism effort of the Nigerian military, two high profile commanders of the Boko Haram militant group have surrendered, along with their families. In a statement to newsmen in Maiduguri by its public relations officer, DSP Victor Isuku, the command said that 13 civilians were also rescued from suspected kidnappers, with two of the hoodlums dying of injuries received in a gun battle with the police. The federal government says it is ready for its first major prosecutions of suspects linked to Boko Haram insurgency. Trials of the suspects will take place at a military base. The defendants have all been arrested and detained since the start of insurgency in the country's northeast in 2009. The Justice ministry announced last month that some 1,670 detainees would go on trial at a civilian court at a military base in Kainji, in the central state of Niger. A further 651 others at the Giwa barracks in the capital of the northeastern state of Borno, Maiduguri, would then be tried. A government source involved in the process told newsmen that defence and prosecution lawyers have arrived early to prepare for the cases.
