2017 "FELABRATION" TAGGED "THE PROPHECY" TO HOLD OCTOBER

The annual festival in celebration of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, 'Felabration', will hold on 9 October.

Felabration is an annual festival which brings Nigerians from all walks of life together to celebrate the life of the late Afrobeat legend.

The annual festival, marked on Fela's birthday since his death in 1997, is themed "The Prophecy".

This year's edition also marks the 20th anniversary of Fela's death.

The festival, which holds for a week, attracts thousands of Afro beat lovers and visitors from around the world to the New Africa Shrine.

Fela's daughter Yeni Kuti instituted the Felabration festival.

The festival will feature musical performances, art competition, Afrobeat Talent Hunt, Fela Debates, Symposium, Secondary Schools Debate and the Felabration Carnival.

It has over the years attracted many high class musical acts around the world.

With performance from the likes of Fela's first son,Femi Kuti, Awilo Longomba, Les Nubians, 2Baba, Asa, Lagbaja, Hugh Masakela, Baba Maal among others.

NIGERIAN UN WORKER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED STRINGS OF BANK ROBBERIES IN NEW YORK(PHOTOS)

          A 53-year-old Nigerian man who works at the United Nations was arrested in connection with a string of bank robberies in Manhattan, over the past month and a half, law enforcement sources tell News 4 New York. The NYPD’s Major Case Squad arrested Abdullahi Shuaibu, of Queens, on Monday, April 17th, at his office at the Foreign Press Centers across from the United Nations building. Police believe he robbed banks while on work breaks.          Law enforcement sources say Shuaibu robbed a HSBC bank at 40th Street and Third Avenue on Monday and then returned to work shortly before he was arrested.They say he’s wanted in at least three other bank robberies.          Shuaibu is listed as a communication specialist at the U.N. John Cena sold his new Ford GT car, but the company was not happy with his move. Ford is taking legal actions by suing the "American Grit" star for violating their contract by selling his new $500k 2017 Ford GT. According to the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court in Michigan, Cena was "selected from thousands of applicants for the opportunity to purchase the Ford GT," TMZ reported. The "Total Bellas" star signed a deal where he agreed to hold onto the car for at least two years before he can unload it. Meet the suspects who allegedly murdered a JUMIA delivery man over iPhone 7, police recover body A facebook user, Ossai Ovie Success, said the body of the delivery man was found inside a septic tank and the police detectives had to pull the dead body tied from the tank. CONOR McGREGOR A judge in Ireland ripped into Conor McGregor on Thursday for his "disrespect to the court" after the famous fighter showed up tardy to pay a speeding ticket. McGregor had previously failed to show up twice for his court appearance over the ticket, and it was looking like he was going to make it a third time before he finally showed. In the time that she was waiting for him, judge Miriam Walsh of the Blanchardstown District Court vented about the disrespect the fighter was showing.
