3 US ARMY SPECIAL COMMANDOS KILLED AND 2 OTHERS WOUNDED BY SUSPECTED ISLAMIC TERRORISTS IN NIGER

US officials announced that three US Army special operations commandos were killed Wednesday and two others were injured when they were ambushed in southwest Niger.

The officials said the two wounded commandos were taken to Niamey, the capital, and are fortunately, in stable condition.
The officials say they were not authorized to discuss the incident publicly so spoke on condition of anonymity.

The officials said the commandos, who were Green Berets, may have been attacked by Al Qaeda terrorists in the Islamic Maghreb.

In a statement, US Africa Command said the forces were with a joint US and Nigerien patrol just north of Niamey, near the Mali border, when they came under hostile fire.

36 BODIES FOUND IN MANILLA CASINO ENTERTAINMENT RESORT

At least 36 bodies have been found at the Resorts World Manila entertainment complex that was stormed by a gunman, in what officials believe was a botched robbery. Most of the dead suffocated in the chaos as guests and staff tried to flee choking smoke at the complex after the attack began shortly after midnight. Police office chief Oscar Albayalde said they were in the casino's main gaming area. "What caused their deaths is the thick smoke," he said. "The room was carpeted and of course the tables, highly combustible." A resort official said the dead included 13 employees and 22 guests. Two Seattle police officers were shot Thursday while responding to a robbery at a 7-Eleven, according to the city's police department. The two officers, one male and one female, were brought to the Harborview Medical Center. The hospital tweeted that the male officer was upgraded to serious but stable condition, and that the female officer remained in satisfactory condition. One officer suffered a shot to the chest, but was wearing a vest sustained minor injuries. Tragedy as Mechanic in Lagos Kills Sales Boy in Broad Daylight 10/02/2017 The police in Lagos State have launched a manhunt for a mechanic, Fatai Bashiru, for allegedly killing a sales boy, Shedrach Emenike, aka Chiboy, in the Papa Ajao, Mushin area of the state.
