Ms Hansen's family said they were shocked and devastated by her death.

A 20-year-old man has been charged following a fatal hit and run that killed a Melbourne nurse, Victorian police have confirmed.

The 20-year-old was arrested at an address in Fulton Road in Blackburn South on Thursday evening.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives say he has been charged with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, fail to stop after collision with a fatality, fail to render assistance after fatal collision, theft of motor vehicle and drive whilst disqualified.
Ms Hansen initially survived the crash but died despite the best efforts of nearby residents who came to her aid.
She was remembered by her family as a compassionate and caring woman who worked as a cardiac nurse.

She was about to start a new job at a large private hospital.

They said Ms Hansen led a "dedicated spiritual life", loved yoga, sang in a gospel choir and enjoyed overseas travel and caring for her elderly mother.
The man will be presented before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The meeting of the Federal Executive Council that holds every Wednesday did not hold yesterday. Yesterday would have afforded President Muhammadu Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday the opportunity of presiding over the council meeting for the first time in over three months. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed in a statement that the meeting would not hold. Adesina did not however disclose the reason behind the decision to cancel the meeting.
