UNRELIABLE NIGERIAN GOVT ; URGENT ATTENTION TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION OF NIGERIAN PRISONERS IN GHANA AND IN DIASPORA

Image
I usually do not write, talk or contribute to whatever it is that has to do with prisoners generally. Why because, even though I am not perfect,I do not have a criminal record and I know how very careful I mind myself, the law and people in general to avoid even been invited as witness in any case, talk more of been a plaintiff or accused. But the post below has touched and drawn my attention to the suffering of the people involved even though I do not know them and in as much as I can not authenticate the post or source,I know and believe there are lots of Nigerians and other nationals in this very situation around Africa and the world. My concentration here is on Nigerians,in as much as I hardly feel for criminals (not saying all prisoners are guilty),we have a country very terrible, from our heartless shadow boxing pretender of a president Buhari to almost all of our senators and representatives nation wide, who abandon and ignore their very duties to serve Nigerians and instead concentra...

HOW TRUMP HAS CONTINUED TO FAIL IN RULING AMERICA LIKE IT WAS HIS PRIVATE BUSINESS

Image
Mitt Romney said during his 2012 presidential campaign he'd like a provision in the Constitution to "say that the president has to spend at least three years working in business before he could become president of the United States." Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner parroted this theme in an interview this March: "We should have excellence in government … The government should be run like a great American company. Our hope is that we can achieve successes and efficiencies for our customers, who are the citizens." And yet, there is no evidence that businesspeople make good politicians. Historians certainly haven't found any. Nevertheless, a big part of Donald Trump's appeal as a presidential candidate was that he was going to bring his "on time and under budget" philosophy to Washington. He was going to run the country like a business. So far it hasn't worked. At nearly every turn, Trump has undermined his own agenda. ...

BOWE BERGDAHL WON'T BE HEADING TO PRISON AFTER ALL

Image
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who deserted his unit in Afghanistan and was later captured by the Taliban in 2009, won't have to face prison time, a military judge ruled in his case on Friday. Bergdahl, who pleaded guilty last month, is still facing dishonorable discharge from the military, loss of his government benefits, and having to pay a $10,000 restitution. He'll also be demoted, becoming a private. However, he's avoiding by far the most serious punishment. Prosecutors were hoping to put Bergdahl in prison for up to 14 years for desertion and another charge called "misbehavior before the enemy" (basically, putting other US soldiers who had to search for him in harm's way) Throughout the trial, Bergdahl's defense team argued that the soldier suffered from mental illness, which led to his decisions. Bergdahl was in captivity for five years and was eventually brought back to the United States in 2014 as part of a prisoner swap negotiated by then- President Obama. ...

IRAN DENOUNCES "CIA FAKE NEWS" IN BIN LADEN FILES

Image
Iran has accused the CIA of spreading "fake news" about the Islamic republic with newly declassified files seized in the 2011 raid in Pakistan in which Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed. The CIA on Wednesday released 470,000 additional files found in May 2011 when US Navy SEALs burst into Bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad and shot him dead. According to scholars from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), who were allowed to see the trove before it was made public, the files shed new light on the murky relationship between the Sunni extremist group and Shiite Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif dismissed the allegations. "A record low for the reach of petrodollars: CIA & FDD fake news w/selective AlQaeda docs re: Iran can't whitewash role of US allies in 9/11," he wrote on Twitter late on Thursday. The release of the files comes as US President Donald Trump's administration seeks to ramp up pressure on Iran, refusin...

DAILY DEVOTION FOR TODAY 3RD OF NOVEMBER 2017

Image
Chief Of Sinners   A daily devotion for November 3rd   From your friends at  RayStedman.org     Read: 1 Timothy 1:12-17       This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (1 Timothy 1:15 KJV).       That sounds simple to us, yet it is very profound. All of us were mixed up, confused, bewildered, darkened in our understanding, and alienated from the life of God. Read Paul's descriptions in Ephesians about what we were like before we came to Christ. Everybody--those with brilliant minds, highly educated people--everybody is in the same boat. Christ Jesus came to take away the darkness, unveil the mysteries, remove the illusions, reveal reality, and awaken love, compassion, mercy, and ministry to others. This is the purpose of Christianity. Then Paul says what is the most astonishing thing of all in this passage:  Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.  If he had sai...

Image
Chinhoyi – Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's ruling Zanu-PF party activists reportedly invaded a white-owned commercial dairy farm just outside Chinhoyi town on Wednesday, as land seizures spread across the country ahead of next year's general elections. Mugabe, who was seeking re-election in polls due in 2018, urged his supporters in June to grab all the few remaining white-owned commercial farms in the countryside to pave way for Zimbabweans who did not have access to land. Following the 93 year-old leader's directive, a new wave of invasions was reported in most parts of the country, including the grabbing of southern Africa's largest agricultural research institutes, Blackfordy Estates, located just outside the capital Harare. The latest invasion of Gyppsland Dairy Farm, located just outside the farming town of Chinhoyi in Mashonaland West Province, about 170km west of the capital Harare, has reportedly disturbed dairy production at the property - at a time when ...
