Why Obasanjo forcefully retired me from police – Oba Akiolu

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has claimed that former president Olusegun Obasanjo forcefully retired him from the Nigerian Police Force IN 2002, so the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could win the 2003 elections in Lagos State.
He claimed that Atiku Abubakar and Lawal Daura convinced Obasanjo to remove him, because the Police Service Commission (PSC) “is a toothless bull-dog.”
He said in part: “Atiku, Daura and others sat down and advised President Obasanjo that if he wanted to win Lagos in 2003, I should be removed. It was written on paper.”
The monarch said Obasanjo “did not know anything about it. He had to send for the Inspector-General of Police (IG) because the then Chief of Staff challenged the plan to retire me.
“For someone to sit at the PSC and determine who retires from the police is unfair. This is not how to run a very efficient and effective police force.”

Witnesses described seeing a man walk towards an ice cream stand in the square and start attacking. A man with a knife has killed two people and injured at least six in a stabbing rampage in a market square in the Finnish city of Turku, police said. The government of the United Kingdom has said it stands with Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents. Breaking: James Ibori leaves DSS custody after 'meeting' with DG The former governor of Delta state returned to the country on Saturday, February 4, after serving a 13 year jail term for fraud in the UK. Ibori was picked up by DSS operatives and then taken to the head office of the DSS for what was described as a briefing. 300 LEVEL VARSITY STUDENT SODOMIZES 10 YEAR OLD GIRL TO DEATH

A 300 Level student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana has reportedly raped a ten-year-old girl to death. The student was said to have anally raped the girl for over three years, damaging her anus and feeding her with a cocktail of painkillers which caused her kidneys to fail, killing her. Reports from Ghanaian online news media said the young man was arrested on Tuesday after the girl was taken to the hospital following her complaints of pains in her anus. Medical tests at the hospital showed she had been sodomised, and revealed damages to her intestines and kidney. The young man is reported to have given the 10-year-old girl eight tablets of paracetamol to kill the pains anytime he has sexual intercourse with her through the anus. He is also reported to have warned the girl not to reveal his sexual encounters with her to anyone or else she will die.

FORMER BBC STUDIO CORDONED OFF AFTER MAN'S BODY WAS DISCOVERED

A man’s body has been discovered on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre. The body was found this morning at the building site on Oxford Road, which is currently being transformed into student flats. Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off. Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area. Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death. The victim is believed to have been discovered by building site staff on Monday morning. It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend. Christian Nwosu An ex - Administrative Secretary with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Christian Nwosu , on Thursday alleged that he was cajoled into confessing to taking a bribe of N 30m to compromise the 2015 general elections.
