The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has claimed that former president Olusegun Obasanjo forcefully retired him from the Nigerian Police Force IN 2002, so the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could win the 2003 elections in Lagos State.
He claimed that Atiku Abubakar and Lawal Daura convinced Obasanjo to remove him, because the Police Service Commission (PSC) “is a toothless bull-dog.”
He said in part: “Atiku, Daura and others sat down and advised President Obasanjo that if he wanted to win Lagos in 2003, I should be removed. It was written on paper.”
The monarch said Obasanjo “did not know anything about it. He had to send for the Inspector-General of Police (IG) because the then Chief of Staff challenged the plan to retire me.
“For someone to sit at the PSC and determine who retires from the police is unfair. This is not how to run a very efficient and effective police force.”

INTERNET FRAUDSTERS HIJACK POLICE FACEBOOK PAGE TO CONDUCT FAKE RECRUITMENT

Suspected Internet fraudsters, popularly called Yahoo boys , have turned the Facebook page of the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force into an avenue to advertise their skills. The suspects, through a series of comments, demanded between N5,000 and N50,000 from those who wanted to learn classified sites for defrauding people, especially foreigners, and offered options of online, as well as physical teaching platforms. Hundreds of persons, including students, graduates and ladies, indicated interest in learning the skills for making quick money and provided their mobile numbers on the SFU Facebook page. The comments were reactions to a post by the SFU sensitising the public to Internet fraud. The unit in the post tagged, 'Common Tricks Yahoo boys use to Swindle Foreigners Revealed,' had warned people against falling victims of the fraudsters. Two armed robbers were reportedly shot dead in a gun battle with the Kano State Police command and gang of robbers who shot a Police Patrol vehicle along Kano/Zaria road at a point close to Garun Mallam Village arrested. CONOR McGREGOR A judge in Ireland ripped into Conor McGregor on Thursday for his "disrespect to the court" after the famous fighter showed up tardy to pay a speeding ticket. McGregor had previously failed to show up twice for his court appearance over the ticket, and it was looking like he was going to make it a third time before he finally showed.
