DAILY DEVOTION FOR TODAY 20th Oct 2017

By
Image
A Song Of Resurrection   A daily devotion for October 20th   From your friends at  RayStedman.org     Read: Psalm 40       He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD (Psalm 40:2-3).       The Holy Spirit spoke marvelously through David, causing him to record his own experiences and yet express truths that were beyond his experience. His language grew greater than the event he was trying to describe. The only ultimate fulfillment was to be in those coming days when the Messiah would appear among men in the flesh. Psalm 40 is, in a sense, our Lord's own autobiography. He Himself tells us why He came to earth, what was accomplished, and what His experiences were. This is a description of resurrection.  He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire  or, as the Hebrew has it,  out ...

UNRELIABLE NIGERIAN GOVT ; URGENT ATTENTION TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION OF NIGERIAN PRISONERS IN GHANA AND IN DIASPORA

By

I usually do not write, talk or contribute to whatever it is that has to do with prisoners generally. Why because, even though I am not perfect,I do not have a criminal record and I know how very careful I mind myself, the law and people in general to avoid even been invited as witness in any case, talk more of been a plaintiff or accused. But the post below has touched and drawn my attention to the suffering of the people involved even though I do not know them and in as much as I can not authenticate the post or source,I know and believe there are lots of Nigerians and other nationals in this very situation around Africa and the world. My concentration here is on Nigerians,in as much as I hardly feel for criminals (not saying all prisoners are guilty),we have a country very terrible, from our heartless shadow boxing pretender of a president Buhari to almost all of our senators and representatives nation wide, who abandon and ignore their very duties to serve Nigerians and instead concentra...

LET THERE BE LIGHT EXCEPT IN NIGERIA

By
Image
From time immemorial, Nigeria has been faced with the nail-biting problem of inconsistent power supply. Owei Lakemfa, here, examines the sad power situation. When God created the world, according to the Bible, it was dark. God said 'Let there be light, and there was light'. The probable exception has been Nigeria, where for over fifty years, the people have been subjected to almost eternal darkness. The senior staff of the power sector complained in 1988 that the country was neither maintaining its power plants nor were there solid plans to expand ther capacities. Over these, they went on strike. The Babangida regime saw this as an affront, rounded up eleven of the workers leaders and put them on trial for treason, demanding the death penalty. They eleven were sentenced to life imprisonment. The Obasanjo administration spent $15 billion purchasing darkness for the country. The Jonathan administration thought it had a brilliant idea; privatise the power sector, thereby save the ...
