DEATH;CHAIRMAN ILAJE LGA SLUMPS,DIES

Agunola Omomowo, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State is dead.Mr. Omomowo also popularly known as "Adoration" among his political supporters died in the early hours of Friday after attending a political meeting.
A source who confirmed the news disclosed that Mr. Omomowo slumped in his hotel room shortly after the meeting.
The source who pleaded anonymity said the late Ilaje local government chairman was confirmed dead on arrival at a local hospital in the area.
The same source stated that the "sorrowful news" has already thrown the workers in the local council area into mourning.
"My younger brother told me that he (Omomowo) slumped in his hotel room after a political meeting, but the details are still not clear to me" the source said.
It was gathered that the outgoing Governor Olusegun Mimiko had earlier met with some of the local government chairmen before the incidence.
Late Omomowo who is a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected as the Ilaje Local Government Chairman on March 24, 2016.

Experts said the number of children used in suicide attacks by Boko Haram surged to 27 in the first quarter of this year, compared to nine over the same period in 2016. PHOTO OF THE DECEASED BEEN TAKEN AWAY An Assistant Superintendent of Customs has allegedly committed suicide in Lungu Village, Gwarinpa, Abuja. The cause of the suicide was yet to be ascertained. Sources said the man, identified as Christian, 44, locked himself in a room and hung himself with a rope on Saturday. A source said the deceased, who was unmarried, was staying with his brother and was said to have been recently transferred to Lagos before the incident happened. The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the brother whom the deceased stayed with was at a barber’s shop when the incident happened. He said the man was confirmed dead at the Kubwa General Hospital. “Exhibits recovered include some drugs and knife.” Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was suffering from depression.

Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students. Presenting the case to the House of Representatives, the member representing Epe Constituency, Wale Raji, appealed to the House to call on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to treat the case with utmost urgency. Two people were killed and eight others were wounded May 7, 2017, in an attack near the site of a memorial where a man was slain earlier in the day in the Brighton Park neighborhood, police said. It happened in the 2600 block of West 46th Place, police said. The men and women gathered at a makeshift memorial Sunday, down the block from where a man in his 20s had been found shot to death between parked cars in the Southwest Side's Brighton Park neighborhood.
