DEATH;CHAIRMAN ILAJE LGA SLUMPS,DIES

Agunola Omomowo, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State is dead.Mr. Omomowo also popularly known as "Adoration" among his political supporters died in the early hours of Friday after attending a political meeting.
A source who confirmed the news disclosed that Mr. Omomowo slumped in his hotel room shortly after the meeting.
The source who pleaded anonymity said the late Ilaje local government chairman was confirmed dead on arrival at a local hospital in the area.
The same source stated that the "sorrowful news" has already thrown the workers in the local council area into mourning.
"My younger brother told me that he (Omomowo) slumped in his hotel room after a political meeting, but the details are still not clear to me" the source said.
It was gathered that the outgoing Governor Olusegun Mimiko had earlier met with some of the local government chairmen before the incidence.
Late Omomowo who is a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected as the Ilaje Local Government Chairman on March 24, 2016.

Unknown Gunmen Kill University Student, Watchman In Jigawa. 17th Feb 2017, A 27-year-old university student, Muhammad Garzali, was killed by unidentified assailants at Kafinhausa town of Kafinhausa Local Government Area of Jigawa. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, May 9, remanded a politician identified as Charles Eni-Umukoro over the murder of his wife, Louisa Eni-Umukoro, who was a director in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Justice Mary-Anne Aninih ordered the remand of Eni-Umukoro in Kuje Prison, FCT pending the hearing of his bail application. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) in February charged Umukoro with culpable homicide, which is punishable with death under Section 221 of the Penal Code. The defendant however denied the allegation. Amilcar Henriquez shot dead in his Panama home . Police in Panama say national team soccer player Amilcar Henriquez has been shot dead while leaving his home. The press chief for Panama’s National Police says the killing happened Saturday in the country’s Colon province. Authorities say a gunman shot the 33-year-old midfielder several times. Another two people were wounded. The player died at a nearby hospital. President Juan Carlos Varela has condemned the killing on his Twitter account. He is calling for authorities in Colon to find those responsible. Henriquez was part of the Panama team that is trying to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
