Cover Girl’s first male ambassador posts racist African tweets, calls it a country in his apology

At age 17, James Charles broke barriers last year and became CoverGirl’s first male spokesperson. But yesterday, Charles tweeted: “‘I can’t believe we’re going to Africa today omg what if we get Ebola." He also tweeted about the fact that their is no internet access in the continent. .

Charles ardently defended his remarks. He initially blocked tweeters who called out the lunacy of his tone-deaf tweets. Several hours later, he removed the tweet and issued an apology, but then, he ended up calling Africa a country.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos have intercepted a 54- year- old single mother of four children. She was going on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia with substances that tested positive for cocaine. The suspect who hails from Kwara State was apprehended during the outward screening of passengers on a Qatar Airline flight to Saudi Arabia after testing positive to drug ingestion. Preliminary investigation revealed that she ingested 32 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine weighing 330 grammes. The suspect who hawks tea and bread to earn a living in Lagos was found to have collected N300,000 to smuggle drugs to Saudi under the pretext of going for pilgrimage. She was also going to Saudi as a private pilgrim and not as a group. NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba, said that this was the second arrest of a pilgrim at the airport. A woman has said that surgery for incontinence left her unable to have sex with her partner because her vagina ‘bit’ his penis. Theresa Bartram, 50, had the operation to lift her bladder using a plastic mesh, but it was fitted too low and eroded through her vaginal wall. Mrs Bartram, from Brighton, said that she had not had sex for seven years until she had the operation that involved the use of a plastic mesh sling called a transvaginal tape(TVT) to stop her leaking. PHOTO OF THE DECEASED BEEN TAKEN AWAY An Assistant Superintendent of Customs has allegedly committed suicide in Lungu Village, Gwarinpa, Abuja. The cause of the suicide was yet to be ascertained. Sources said the man, identified as Christian, 44, locked himself in a room and hung himself with a rope on Saturday. A source said the deceased, who was unmarried, was staying with his brother and was said to have been recently transferred to Lagos before the incident happened. The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the brother whom the deceased stayed with was at a barber’s shop when the incident happened. He said the man was confirmed dead at the Kubwa General Hospital. “Exhibits recovered include some drugs and knife.” Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was suffering from depression.

BREAKING NEWS;GUNMEN ABDUCT SCHOOL PRINCIPALS AND STUDENT

Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students. Presenting the case to the House of Representatives, the member representing Epe Constituency, Wale Raji, appealed to the House to call on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to treat the case with utmost urgency.
