MAN CHAINS WIFE TO GENERATING SET ALL NIGHT AFTER BATTERING HER
Security agencies across Nigeria have been called upon to ensure that any man who beats his woman or violently deals with women should be made to face the full wrath of law.A Facebook user, Omololu Omotosho described violence against women as inhumane, adding that men who were self-assured do not need to beat women in order to exert control in their households.
A man identified as Ifeanyi Ajaero, had handcuffed his wife, 28-year-old Obiageli, to a power generating set, after seriously battering her. According to the Ogun state police command, Obiageli had been beaten and handcuffed to the generator, from the night of Friday, April 14, to the morning of Saturday, April 15. Mr Ajaero handcuffed his wife Obiageli to a generator Omotosho said: “Violence against women needs to stop. Men that are self-assured do not need to beat women in order to exert control in the household.
“Sustained domestic violence in the household can lead to the victim experiencing mental breakdown; there are other ways a man can demonstrate he is the head of the household other than using beating and punishment. “Adults are not children: The gruesome case that was reported in Sagamu, Ogun state, where a husband handcuffed his wife to a generator as a way of resolving his issues with her is inhumane.
“I doubt that a wife would have more respect for her husband after he handcuffed her to a generator - that's not a way to control one's household. “Physical torture can lead to a feeling of hate between two people that are supposed to be family.“Enduring sentiments of hate in a household as a result of a party feeling victimized can lead to unthinkable negative results. Women are strong. Women are delicate. Women are human."
