20 YEAR OLD BOY IN THE DOCK FOR BRUTALIZING AND STABBING ANOTHER



A 20-year-old man, Olayinka Bamgboye, was arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrate’s’ Court on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing one Waheed Alagbede.

Bamgboye, who resides at No.5, Fafunmi Street, Ajasa, Lagos, is facing a count charge of assault.The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Yomi Egunjobi, told court that the accused committed the offence on April 28.

Egunjobi said the accused stabbed Alagbede with a knife after giving him punches and inflicting serious injuries on him.

The prosecutor said that the accused assaulted Alagbede because he refused to apologize when he flashed touch light in his face.

He said that the offence contravened Section 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.Section 172 prescribes three-year jail term for assault.

The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Osibanjo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Osibanjo said that one of the sureties must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of a two-year tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The court adjourned the case until June 5.
