20 YEAR OLD BOY IN THE DOCK FOR BRUTALIZING AND STABBING ANOTHER

A 20-year-old man, Olayinka Bamgboye, was arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrate’s’ Court on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing one Waheed Alagbede.

 Bamgboye, who resides at No.5, Fafunmi Street, Ajasa, Lagos, is facing a count charge of assault.The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

 The Prosecutor, Sgt. Yomi Egunjobi, told court that the accused committed the offence on April 28.

 Egunjobi said the accused stabbed Alagbede with a knife after giving him punches and inflicting serious injuries on him.

 The prosecutor said that the accused assaulted Alagbede because he refused to apologize when he flashed touch light in his face.

 He said that the offence contravened Section 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.Section 172 prescribes three-year jail term for assault.

 The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Osibanjo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

 Osibanjo said that one of the sureties must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of a two-year tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

 The court adjourned the case until June 5.

SAPULPA, Okla. - Police say an elementary school teacher was arrested on multiple charges after accidentally leaving her Facebook page open on a school computer. Officers were called to Holmes Park Elementary School on Monday after a teacher found Megan Sloan's Facebook page open on a computer, according to KOKI-TV. Authorities say the page featured a conversation where Sloan reportedly asked about using and selling heroin. Detectives told KOKI that during the investigation, Sloan allegedly admitted to pawning two iPads that belonged to the school district. She also reportedly admitted to using money from field trips for gas and drugs. A herdsman carrying gun Eight persons were feared dead following an attack by suspected herdsmen, on two villages in Logo Local Government Area of Benue state, a Police statement said. The Spokesman of the Police Command in Benue, ASP Moses Yamu, confirmed the attacks in a statement on Monday in Makurdi. Yamu said the attacks on Akaa and Tse-Orlalu villages in Mbamar, Ugondo communities, were perpetrated by suspected herdsmen late on Sunday. He said that the police had yet to establish the motive for the attack and that adequate personnel had been drafted to the villages to restore normalcy.
