20 YEAR OLD BOY IN THE DOCK FOR BRUTALIZING AND STABBING ANOTHER

A 20-year-old man, Olayinka Bamgboye, was arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrate’s’ Court on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing one Waheed Alagbede.

 Bamgboye, who resides at No.5, Fafunmi Street, Ajasa, Lagos, is facing a count charge of assault.The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

 The Prosecutor, Sgt. Yomi Egunjobi, told court that the accused committed the offence on April 28.

 Egunjobi said the accused stabbed Alagbede with a knife after giving him punches and inflicting serious injuries on him.

 The prosecutor said that the accused assaulted Alagbede because he refused to apologize when he flashed touch light in his face.

 He said that the offence contravened Section 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.Section 172 prescribes three-year jail term for assault.

 The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Osibanjo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

 Osibanjo said that one of the sureties must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of a two-year tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

 The court adjourned the case until June 5.

The Nigerian Air Force has sentenced to death by hanging Airman Kalu Bernard, for killing his lover, Solape Oladipupo, aka Shomzy Shomzy, on March 12, 2017. The judgment, which started at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, dragged till 4 p.m. when it was stood down before the panelists reconvened at 7:30 p.m. Reading out the 70-page court findings, which lasted for about two hours, the Judge Advocate, Flight Lieutenant M.A. Umoh, listed the eight-count charges against 21-year-old Kalu to include murder, house breaking, impersonation, attempted murder, among others. The defense counsel, Abimiku Ewuga, urged the court to temper justice with mercy, saying the accused was his family breadwinner. The President of the court, Gp. Capt. Saudi police shoot dead IS suspect MARCH 8TH 2017,          Police in Saudi Arabia said Wednesday they shot dead a member of the Islamic State group in the capital, the latest suspected jihadist to be killed by security forces. MAN ALLEGEDLY BEATS 85 YEAR OLD MUM TO DEATH TO PLEASE WIFE

A man has been arrested by the Egyptian police after he allegedly admitted to beating his 85-year-old mother to death because his wife complained about her. Zeinab as-Sayyid Mahfouz died at a hospital in Alexandria on September 15 after what many speculated to be domestic violence. After reports of him beating his aged mother to death circulated online, social media users in Egypt demanded that he be brought to justice. It was learnt that Zeinab's daughter-in-law had complained to her son about her after which he brutally beat her up to please his wife. Ghanaian Reggae musician Ekow Micah has stood his ground regarding his stance for smoking "wee". Micah referred to the Holy Bible and cited an instance where God smoked marijuana popularly known as "wee" In an interview with Akwasi Aboagye on Peace FM's "Entertainment Review", Ekow Micah said he smokes because the almighty God smoked. He quoted Psalm 18:7-8 to buttress his point. "The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it". This news comes after dancehall artist Samini admitted to also consuming the illegal narcotic in the comfort of his home. Ekow Micah was arrested, charged and put on trial for possessing illegal wee. GIANT HORNETS STING 87 YEAR OLD WOMAN TO DEATH

Asian Hornet A wheelchair-bound 87-year-old pensioner, Chieko Kikuchi, who was attacked by giant hornets in Japan and stung 150 times, has died. According to a firefighter,  emergency workers stood by powerless to help her. A swarm of hornets swooped on Kikuchi as she was on her way back from her care centre in western Japan, accompanied by a helper. The helper called firefighters but they could not reach the woman immediately as the swarm around her was too thick and they had no protective equipment. After the ordeal, which lasted around 50 minutes, the woman was rushed to hospital but died the following day, the firefighter said. "It was an unusual operation for us," he admitted. The death occurred in mid-September but was only reported on Friday, making headline news on national bulletins.
